safari is unusable

I have a new MB pro (early 2015). Latest updates (as of today). Yosemite (or something) has broken a bunch of things. I am having constantly to restart because of freezing/strange behavior. Safari is unstable - won't load certain pages/takes forever to load/freezes. I've disable all third party extensions, etc., nothing helps. I switched to chrome and everything works fine. I don't know if it's worth going back to safari. Apple does not seem responsive to yosemite/safari problems. Does anyone know if they monitor these discussions?

Try clearing cache in the 3 libraries

Go Menu from top then Go To Folder

~/Library/Cache

/Library/Cache

/System/Library/Cache

Delete all files in the 3 Cache folders

Restart computer then empty trash

Open Safari

Then go to Safari > Preferences > Privacy

Remove All Website Data

Then go to Safari > Clear History and Website Data

Quit Safari

Reboot Computer and see if Safari is any better

What I suggested was far below hacker level stuff

Since Safari is now a part of the OS and not an individual download

You can try to reinstall the operating system from OS X Recovery

Make sure you have a backup first

It could be possible that when you upgraded, something became corrupt. Things like this happen. I've been there before myself

If you don't feel comfortable doing that though I completely understand. 🙂

This same problem has literally ruined by ability to function on the web since installing Yosemite. Such a colossal P.O.S. Just to get to the board has taken my system 42 minutes to load the page and crashed about 5 times and frozen 2 other times. I am on the precipice of giving up and selling my Macs. Its that bad. Its like Windows ME all over again.

Wish I could find and answer to this.

Facebook loads so slowly it is almost unusable or it doesn't load at all. Lots of problems with Google-found pages loading (Safari can't open page).

I've been Mac-only since 1991 and have never seen a problem this bad with Apple software. Firefox doesn't exhibit these problems.

Apple, please tell us what the fix for this is!

Apple doesn’t routinely monitor the discussions. These are mostly user to user discussions.

Send Apple feedback. They won't answer, but at least will know there is a problem. If enough people send feedback, it may get the problem solved sooner.
