iOS 8.3 Bluetooth Connection Problems

Looking for a solution to a problem I have been having with several bluetooth devices (Bose Color Soundlink and Jaybird Bluebuds X) to any of my iOS 8.3 device (iPhone 6, iPad Air 2 and iPad Mini 2)

The first time, each iOS device paired quickly and successfully with both the Bose and Jaybird products. But after that, any of the iOS devices will NOT connect unless I first have the iOS device to "forget" the Bose or Jaybird device. After that step, the iOS device will connect again.

Tried all the normal stuff - reset the devices, reset the network settings, turned Bluetooth on/off. Nothing will make a connection until I "forget" the device.

If it were just one item, I would blame the headset/speaker that iOS 8.3 is connecting too. But it's multiple Bluetooth devices and multiple iOS devices.

Anyone have any suggestions? Kind of a pain to have to reset every time.

Hello fellow iphone / Bluetooth device users: I have solved my iphone 5 BT problem. I have a Sony Receiver w/Bluetooth, NFC & App Remote Model # MEX-N5000BT. After I updated to ios 8.3 my iphone 5 would no longer play music via Bluetooth. Or I would have to reconnect every time I used it. I read somewhere that updating to 8.3 or any 8. ios via wifi, causes problems. Apple should just remove the option to update by wifi. It creates mysterious iphone issues and makes Apple look like idiots. When they are " Genius's ". So, you need to back up your iphone, then do a full restore using itunes, then restore from your backup. Make sure you change the name of your iphone before you do the backup, I add the date after the name. My iphone now plays music as it did before the 8.3 update. You may have to manually resync your mail, music collection and non Apple software. I hope this also works for you.

Similar problems with my iPhone 5s running 8.3 with both the Uclear HBC200 bluetooth headset and Take and Talk iPhone 3gs bluetooth adapter. Both will pair just fine. Both will allow callers to hear me, the Uclear will play music and phone tones, but since 8.3 neither bluetooth device is able to receive voice phone comms from the phone. This renders both devices useless for their intended purpose. Have tried re-pairing, resetting network setting, rebooting the phone, restoring the software all to no avail (and the volume is all the way up). Can't downgrade to 8.2 as its no longer signed. This is hopeless. Just to get their stupid watch to pair with the phone, Apple have now rendered the phone capability of my car and motorcycle useless. Samsung here I come.

I have a 5S that was recently updated to 8.3. Car pairing works for use of the phone but my OBDII Bluetooth connection is not seen by the phone. My laptop picked it up and paired to it immediately.
Frankly, I don't want to have to save data, clear the phone, and start over until I know that it will solve my problem. I'd like an explanation.

iPhone 6 plus, iOS 8.3 - cannot play music or handle phone calls from 2011 Nissan Maxima.

I have exhausted all known troubleshooting steps, including:

  1. Toggle Bluetooth radio on iPhone, off, then back on
  2. Restart iPhone (holding Sleep button, then sliding the soft switch on the top of the screen from left to right)
  3. Clear all bluetooth pairings on the iPhone
  4. Clear all bluetooth entries in the Nissan Maxima
  5. Reset Network Settings from iPhone (Settings --> General --> Reset --> Reset Network Settings)

Other information that may be unique, or helpful to developers troubleshooting this bug:

  1. Nissan Maxima shows that iPhone has connected upon startup, however no bluetooth media options are functional (music and phone).
  2. iPhone's bluetooth connection shows as connected to my vehicle, however no bluetooth media options are functional (music and phone).
  3. iPhone works well with other bluetooth devices that I own, such as a portable speaker, and a Vizio soundbar.
  4. Nissan Maxima works as expected with other smartphones, including a Galaxy S5 (kit-kat).

Nothing has worked so far. My iPhone is useless in my car. Please help, Apple.
