Messages not sending to non iphone users

I used to be able to run ALL of my messages through the message program on my macbook - including SMS messages. I upgraded from iPhone 5 16gb to iPhone 6 64gb yesterday and I can no longer run SMS messages from my macbook pro. Is there a way for me to fix this issue?

iPhone 6, iOS 8.3

My iPhone works fine, but when using my iPad I am unable to text anyone who has a non-Apple product. Any ideas on how to fix?

New iPad Pro with iOS 10.2

Aha! Fond the problem. The old iPad was turned on under Forwarding on my iphone but not the new iPad. Thanks so much! Sometimes it's the little things.
