Hi,I know this is a longwinded question so here goes. If I had version10.6.8 erased the hard drive but the flash drive I used was for 10.5.8...Is there any way I can get 10.

I'm really kicking myself over this one because my instinct told me not to do it,my instinct is almost always right...But I did it anyway. My thought was that it would do some sort of upgrade and I could go from there. Found that out the hard way. I can't play games or watch movies or Youtube because there aren't any flash players up to date. HELP?! No I'm not a dummy either,I'm really not lol.

If you have the Leopard (10.5) CD available, enter it and restart while holding the C key. It starts up from the disk. In Utilities there is a possibility to reset the admin account password.

No, all I had was the flash drive. I did try that with the flash drive also but it didn't work. This is all just making me want to erase the flippin hard drive again and just use the tiger CD I have. That flash drive is worthless for retrieving my password. Sorry to sound so negative but it's really getting frustrating.

It's me again your head ache with password problems now. I don't know if this will help you help me or not but let me tell you about my mac....It's 2006 model

Serial Number (system): QP*****U2S. ( Yes I know it's old) but I have become attached to it's pretty pearl body haha. My apple keyboard, also trashed,so I'm using an ihome keyboard. I have done everything I can think of looking for ways to get that password,one of the ways being yours,so I thought maybe this extra info might help? One more try and I promise I'll leave you alone...

Hi Mike,
I saw this in many of my searches however nothing happens when I push command or in my case Ctrl -2. There's got to be something I'm missing.

I'm not familiar with an iHome keyboard, is that for windows? I think the Alt key on a win keyboard imitates the command key for Mac. Did you try Alt S?

Nope I didn't but I'm going to. lol Yeah it's a windows keyboard I can use on my mac. Man I hope this works ! 🙂 It didn't work. I guess I'm going to have to hit the lottery so I can take it in and get it fixed.😟
