I can send Digital Touch, but can't receive. Any ideas?

Hi there

My partner and I both have our new Apple Watches today. I can easily send Digital Touch messages to her, she always gets them. When she sends to me though, I never get them. I do get messages and so on, but never Digital Touch.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

You can only do Digital Touch through the Friends screen by pressing the button on the side. So yeah, we've tried that. It's working fine from me to her, but not from her to me. I just get nothing at all. I've looked in all the settings and there's nothing that's different so not sure why it's not working. I don't know anyone else with an Apple Watch who can try sending me a Digital Touch to see if it's me or her.

My partner and I are in exactly the same position where she can send me digital touch and I can receive it. But she can't get any of mine. I can also send mine to my friends and they get it. Though some friends cannot send digital touch because the curser just keeps loading. Cannot figure it out. Wondering if my partner having less than 20% battery power on her iPhone has anything to do with it? We can call each other watch to watch just fine. And send and receive messages fine.

My fiancée and I were having the same issue. I could send her messages but I never received the ones she sent even though I could receive sketches from a friend. We managed to resolve it by changing the email address new iMessage conversations are started from on her phone in the phone settings app. She changed it to the one that matched her Apple ID login rather than her @icloud.com address.

Hope this fixes it for other people too!

Hi everyone,

we did figure it out eventually. It was related to the messaging situation that ejbowes also mentioned. We changed our iMessage settings to ensure new conversations were started from our phone number and then (and this is the important part), we deleted all old messages from iPhone and started a new conversation. This fixed it for us. Good luck!
