Hi. Text & Email Notifications not showing on watch?

I seem to have the correct notifications switch on via the apple watch app on my phone, but they don't come up as an alert on the watch.

Any advice?

Hello

I had the same problem in the past few days, very upset and was thinking to return the watch.... I just called Apple Support, the representative is so helpful, he told me: 1. need to wear the watch 2. keep your iPhone on "Locked" status. Because if your iPhone is UnLocked, the watch thinks you are using the phone and you don't need any notification.

I tried and tested, now I finally heard the Alert sound to notify me I have a email. Hope it works for you too.

That's what I was told too, however, sometimes I get the notification on my watch anyways while I'm on my phone, which I prefer.

Anyways I had the same problem with text messages, then I fixed it. Turn off cover to mute located in the apple watch app on the iphone. It's going to be under the Sounds and Haptics selection. Once you turn it off, and you get your notifications on the watch, feel free to turn it back on. Hopefully this helps!

I still don't get email notifications though. If I stumble upon a fix. I'll let you know.

Are you guys saying that the notes in the Watch App. on the iPhone do not describe what is actually happening ? They say ----

"Notification alerts appear on Apple watch when you are wearing it and it's unlocked. And you won't get alerts on your Apple Watch if you're actively using your iPhone ---"

If this really is an accurate description of what is happening, then it perhaps needs a slight change in a future update to allow, by choice, both Watch and iPhone to show the desired notifications ?

I haven't had any problems with my messages being pushed to my watch.

I was having problems with my emails from Mail showing on the watch—some were showing up, but others were not, specifically my Gmail account mail notices. My Gmail notifications from the Gmail account were showing up on the watch.

I checked all of my setting for both the iPhone and the watch and decided that it had to do with the "push" versus "fetch" settings for the Mail account for the iPhone. My two accounts that were showing up had "push" enabled. My Gmail accounts through Mail did not and my Gmail accounts through the Gmail account did.

I customized the Mail notices being sent to the Watch to only include the "push" accounts, then enabled notifications for the Gmail app. Now I am getting all of my notifications, but some are coming from the Mail app and the Gmail ones are coming through the Gmail app.

Good point, but they weren't showing up when DND wasn't enabled.

The notifications were fine; it was the Gmail. The Gmail did finally show up via the Mail account, but it was always delayed because Gmail is fetched and not pushed.

The free app CloudMagic takes care of the problem. It pushes the Gmail so it arrives when it is sent. The notifications for the same Gmail accounts in my iPhone mail account do eventually show up, but sometimes 20-30 minutes later. Apple must have fixed the problem because they weren't showing up at all before.

BTW, the Watch app for CloudMagic also allows you to delete the Gmail you don't want right from the Watch. I find that really handy.
