Hi. Text & Email Notifications not showing on watch?
I seem to have the correct notifications switch on via the apple watch app on my phone, but they don't come up as an alert on the watch.
Any advice?

After setting changes and complete reboots, it looks like un-pairing and re-pairing the watch finally worked for me. Of course it occasionally still randomly fails to display a notification every now and then, but it's a lot better. $600 doesn't buy you as much reliability as it used to...
It would solve my problems if the watch always displayed notifcations regardless of any other factor; as in it actually 100% mirrored my phone like you would expect an option specifically named 'Mirror my iPhone' would do.
I have tried some of the workaround in this thread, except two-factor password. I'm not receiving notifications to stand up, or sms/imessage-notifications,. I've done som testing with sms-notifications, and noticed that I only receives notifications on the watch when the watch is awake. This is what I do:
1. Make sure the iphone is locked / display is off.
2. Wake the watch.
3. Send message from another source to your number.
4. The watch vibrates and gives sound/haptic-notification.
If I disable bluetooth on the iphone, I get notifications on both the iphone and the watch.
Update: If I disable "Wrist detection" i get notifications both on the watch and the iphone approx the same time. The iphone display lights up, and the watch giving sound and haptic notification, but the screen on the watch isn't lit up.
This one finally worked for me! Thanks! Just go to iPhone Settings and make sure the Notifications you want are turned ON. 😉
Hi,
My watch had the exact same problem but it seams like i got it right now.
I´ve tried 2 different iPhones and 3 watches. Today i talked with the Apple support for 1 hour.
My solution is extremely weird, but for me it helped to change the arm you wear it on in the Watch app on the iPhone.
In my phone it says that i wear it on my right arm but i have it on my left one in reality and now all my notifications come through. The Apple support crew where very interested in this and he told me that he definitely should report this.
Hope this can help anyone. 🙂
i did until step 9, but the msn Wait for "Wrong password error" or Open Messages app on watch didn't appear.

I have a watch with the same issue. After trying everything with no success it seems we have a defective piece since the wrist sensors are not working fine so the watch does not "know" when is on wrist and locks itself. Waiting for Apple replacement availability here in Brazil 😟
Your phone needs to be in sleep Mode that way the message is on your apple watch and not your phone
Everything seems to be coming through on my Apple Watch nicely now. The only thing I'm noticing is text message notifications take a bit longer to come through on the watch than say an email one does via my Gmail app on the iPhone. Is anyone else experiencing some lag with text notifications coming up?
If same problem with Messages, do the same steps! Do one at a time so you can isolate!
Hope this helps you! 🙂
This helped and I will see if it sticks.
I turned off iMessage, then it worked.
Thanks for the help! You lose me between 3 and 4, can you explain that? I click on password and security but where are you seeing the App specific info...?
I Had the same issue and was able to resolve it by swiping up on the watch screen and going to the "settings at a glance" screen. I then turned off the do not disturb setting(the crescent moon button).
TThis happened to me too. I had mail notifications on my phone's lock screen set to off and on my watch the notifications were set to "mirror iPhone". I changed the watch to "custom" and made sure everything there was switched to "on" and that fixed it!
