Hi. Text & Email Notifications not showing on watch?

I seem to have the correct notifications switch on via the apple watch app on my phone, but they don't come up as an alert on the watch.

Any advice?

After setting changes and complete reboots, it looks like un-pairing and re-pairing the watch finally worked for me. Of course it occasionally still randomly fails to display a notification every now and then, but it's a lot better. $600 doesn't buy you as much reliability as it used to...

It would solve my problems if the watch always displayed notifcations regardless of any other factor; as in it actually 100% mirrored my phone like you would expect an option specifically named 'Mirror my iPhone' would do.

I have tried some of the workaround in this thread, except two-factor password. I'm not receiving notifications to stand up, or sms/imessage-notifications,. I've done som testing with sms-notifications, and noticed that I only receives notifications on the watch when the watch is awake. This is what I do:

1. Make sure the iphone is locked / display is off.

2. Wake the watch.

3. Send message from another source to your number.

4. The watch vibrates and gives sound/haptic-notification.

If I disable bluetooth on the iphone, I get notifications on both the iphone and the watch.

Hi,

My watch had the exact same problem but it seams like i got it right now.

I´ve tried 2 different iPhones and 3 watches. Today i talked with the Apple support for 1 hour.

My solution is extremely weird, but for me it helped to change the arm you wear it on in the Watch app on the iPhone.

In my phone it says that i wear it on my right arm but i have it on my left one in reality and now all my notifications come through. The Apple support crew where very interested in this and he told me that he definitely should report this.

Hope this can help anyone. 🙂

Update: If I disable "Wrist detection" i get notifications both on the watch and the iphone approx the same time. The iphone display lights up, and the watch giving sound and haptic notification, but the screen on the watch isn't lit up.

I have a watch with the same issue. After trying everything with no success it seems we have a defective piece since the wrist sensors are not working fine so the watch does not "know" when is on wrist and locks itself. Waiting for Apple replacement availability here in Brazil 😟

  1. turn “mirror” on for mail notifications in the Apple watch app on your phone
  2. go to Settings>Notifications>Mail and toggle off “Allow Notifications"
  3. shut down and restart the watch and phone
  4. go to Settings>Notifications>Mail on your phone and toggle on “Allow Notifications”

If same problem with Messages, do the same steps! Do one at a time so you can isolate!

Hope this helps you! 🙂
