Maps worked this morning after I toggled Bluetooth on and off. I didn't try without doing this first, so I don't know if Apple did something on their side or if it's a bug... But I think I had already toggle Bluetooth on and off yesterday without success, so I guess Apple DID do something.
Anyway, thanks everyone, thanks Apple, everything works fine now and I'm starting to like this watch!
Well, what should I say: this morning maps started to work again. I did not change anything. I swear it!
OKay........it works 🙂 looks like Apple must have corrected something their side.
last night around 12:30 it just started working , I had tried everything on this post to no avail.
i Had restored the phone as new and paired only to find it wasn't working and gave up on it.
then the Apple fairies did their magic and hey presto I thought I would take one last look before going to sleep.
i Had maps , tears where welling up......
Thank you! It work´s!!!
Woke up this morning and maps is working fine, looks like the techies at apple must have worked out the problem!
Tried re-booting everything yesterday (received watch Friday) with no joy. Then turned it on this morning (Sunday)... it works. It seems that either someone in the world of Apple has waved a magic wand or it may need time to 'sync' after initial power up....? Whatever, it now works and all's well 🙂
I had the same issue. After doing all the resets and so on I figured out what helps for me.
The problem was related to a "false" setting under >iCloud>Location sharing .
If it is enabled, no problem with Maps anymore ...
Update for me on the map problem. Did nothing, just tried the map app again and it worked. FM
Just had a call back from the engineer assigned to my case confirming that it was a server side issue, which they have now fixed.
My Maps app started working, without any action on my part, sometime early on Sunday morning (GMT +1).
i had this problem after watchOS 2 nothing worked for me rebooting /restoring / reset nothing
i have 42 apple watch sport
the fix was just enable location services for siri & dictation and problem solved
hope that work for all of you guys
Open maps on Apple Watch.
Hit 'Search'.
Hit 'Dictation'.
Say a random location e.g. 'London'.
Scroll down.
Wait for map to load.
Hit 'Done'.
Go back and hit 'My Location'.
It should work.
I had the same problem, and the solution was to reset the iPhone/WatchApp/General/Language and Region/Region Format to where I actually was. After that it can load the map
Tried hard resets of both the watch and phone, but in the end unpairing and a restore from backup was the only way to fix this issue.
I had to decouple and recouple my Apple Watch. After that, tiles starting appearing.
