Weather app not working on watch

How do you "re-boot" the watch??

This didn't help me initially, but in conjunction with unpairing and then repairing, it fixed the problem. Which is good, because I did not want to spend my day resetting everything.

I think most such issues originate from the phone and doing what you did will usually correct them. Everybody's trying the un-pairing route which may or may not be successful but causes its own issues by losing Apple Pay data, any synced Music playlist, activity calibration, etc. If it's a native app that's causing a problem going to the app on the phone and trying a few things is far better tan completely wiping the watch every time there's a small glitch.

I started from scratch. Also make sure that after unpairing, that you reboot both devices. Until I did this attempts to pair the watch always failed.

A hard reset of the phone and the watch fixed it for me. No UN pairing required

I know it says this issue is solved with that fix, but all I had to do was to turn off location services for the weather app on my phone. The watch is now displaying the weather correctly. Beats having to reset everything.

Great tip! For me restarting my phone has worked but your way is even easier. Too many people un-pairing the watch which is like using a sledgehammer to swat a fly.

I just had this issue today, an I reset and rebooted both the watch and iPhone 6 to only

a tem relief and the spinning wheel still comes back, I did the reset network settings and it was fixed

No need to reset. Deleting locations in iPhone weather app solved the problem.

I went to General > Reset and the only choice there is "Erase all Content and Settings". I went to the Apple watch app on my phone and found the Reset Sync Data but it won't allow me to select it.

I Just spent an hour on the phone with apple. They had me re-pair my watch and also did a hard reset on my phone and still every time I went into the apple watch app and attempted to set my default city in the weather app the app would crash. Apple then wanted me to do a factory reset on my phone and restore to factory settings first (not my backup) to see if it was a software issue. I am very happy I found your post because I also was not using the apple weather app and was using the weather channel app. I did as you suggested and opened the apple weather app on my iPhone and set my default city and it worked. I am thankful I found your post and I did not have to go through backing up my phone and do a factory reset. Thanks again!

I had the same problem for two days. I just restarted my watch, and then my iPhone, This totally fixed the issue. No unpairing, no reset. The latter should always be last resort. But, the reason for the problems could of course vary from watch to watch.

I've found that just rebooting my phone solves the problem. So much faster than the unpairing route!

Set your timezone (best to Auto mode). This fixed the weather sync on my watch, when rebooting both the watch and the iPhone didn't help.
