Charging issues, overheating and battery problem

it seems okay now, but when charging my 38mm sport, it got to about 44%, and stayed there whilst getting quite hot. It then said the charger was an unsupported accessory so I left it unplugged for 5 minutes. It cooled down and then charged to 100% within an hour, is this normal? aren't they supposed to be charged overnight?

I Have had this problem and I am very upset. I love apple but this is basics that should have been identified I rebooted and it was fine for a week. Now I wake up and it never charged and it showed charging. It is hot as well. I don't think I should have to worry every night if my watch will be charged when I wake. Frustrating to say the least.

i found that if i power off and power back on it charges fine. I think that when it charges for some reason if the charger isn't correctly on the watch it causes this issue. i have had it twice so far but will monitor because if it continues i will exchange. i just don't want to return as i love having it during the day and will miss it if i have to wait for a new one.

Anyone having these issues, even if they appear to have gone away. I Would return it, before it is too late. If not they will make you send in for evaluation and repair unknown time frames and many of us have had the issue return. It is currently unknown if it is watch hardware, charger or software issue. Apple should be immediately asking for bad watches back offering replacements and testing those units at their time and expense to resolve the issue. However, currently they are not doing this, instead consumers left hanging.

Couldn't return my watch online, so I phoned customer support yesterday. I explained the issue that myself and many others were having. They didn't take long to offer me a refund or a replacement. I took the refund, just so I can wait and make sure that the problem is fixed, then I may consider purchasing another one. To be honest anyway, I wasn't really impressed with the watch like I hoped I would be, so I am not fussed about purchasing another.

I Would return defective ones, before it is too late. If not they will make you send in for evaluation and repair unknown time frame If you have more than 14 days from shipping. Mine was stainless , just received replacement I ordered cheaper aluminum sport. So far so good. Comes with different charger as well all plastic.i had replacement order flagged by AppleCare so it might come quicker , don't know if it did took two plus weeks to arrive .
