Facebook password required Mac pop up

I did a software update on my MacBook Pro (OS X Yosemite) today and ever since a window keeps popping up. The title on the window is "Facebook Password". The message inside the window says "Enter the password for (my email) in System Preferences." There are 2 options to click - Preferences and Cancel. Clicking Preferences does nothing and clicking Cancel only closes the box for a second or two before it pops back up again. Any suggestions on how to fix this?

By finding System Preferences and selecting internet accounts, I selected Facebook on the list and hit the negative sign. Problem of popups resolved. I am worried though about the previous hacker comments though.

I just tried this but 20 seconds later the pop up appeared. There's got to be another way.

I was having this same problem. One thing I just did that seems to be working is to go into System Preferences, then internet accounts, de-select enable this account, close out of that, then go back in and re-enable the Facebook account.

Hopefully it works, because that pop up was driving me mad!!

These simple steps worked for me.

The annoying Facebook Pop Up disappeared completely.
