EyeTv hybrid and sleep issue

I have a new eyeTV hybrid module plugged into my 20" apple display and connected to my MacPro.
Whilst the i am satisfied with the module as it gives me access to both DVT channels and the five + one (Sky) analogue channels, i do have to plug the module out to make the macPro sleep.
This is an annoyance/inconvenience.
Has any one had similar problem or a solution so that the module can be left plugged in the USB with the MacPro in sleep mode ?

MacPro 2.66 Dual 2gb memory, Mac OS X (10.4.8)

Have you tried unplugging EyeTV 200 and see if sleep works? I have found many hubs and expansion cards can cause sleep to fail while the EyeTV 200 does not.

I've completely re-installed my system and ran it for a few days - where it has slept just fine... then I installed EyeTV and shortly thereafter (some random time) it starts having problems...
