Yes. I have had mine in the shower daily. Also works fine on beach with crashing waves and sand.
Haha you can, but I wouldn't for safe measure.
Use a locker Sullivan.
Yup, can't even get it until June now for sure after the Taptic engine feedback issue.
The Taptic issue, if true, is reported to have happened well before recent comments from Apple that many people would see their watchs shipped sooner than the estimated dates they saw when ordering.
Writing as a wristwatch repairer of 15 years+ I'd say NO watch, whether electronic or mechanical, should ever be worn in the shower. Even watches originally "waterproof" after long use, and rarely serviced, will LEAK !
Exceptions are some sports/diving watches specifically designed with high water resistance.
And you, sir, are exactly the kind of person I would be listening to and not some computer or software tech expert.
Thank you very much for your input.
Cheers
Pete

Thank you, Dan!
Apple Watch, not iWatch.
I wouldn't. While the watch should be water resistant enough it isn't resistant to pressurized water. There is a separate category for that which IEC IPX7 does not cover.
Yes, if I were Tim Cook, I would wear mine in the shower too... That said, I am not Tim Cook and I don't have a warehouse full of apple watches and a bank roll to replace the watch if it breaks. Thanks for the reminder Mr. Cook! #LoveMyAppleWatch
Meg St._Clair, I have a Movado Fiero watch that I have been wearing constantly for some six years and when I say constantly I mean in the steam room, shower, at the pool, in the pool and swimming under water. I have never had a problem so not even a scratch (tungsten carbide ceramic), so yes, some watches can be worn in the water. I just got my Apple Watch yesterday and haven't tried showering with it yet but will. I believe that the IEC IPX7 standard for water resistant means a shower will be ok. I will find out.

Personally, I don't care how other people chose to treat their watches. Apple says you shouldn't and that's good enough for me. I didn't spend $600 on a watch to have it stop working because I ignored the manufacturers directions.
I've also never understood why I would want to wear a watch in the shower. The last thing I need is soap, moisture, dead skin cells trapped under my watch band. But, to each their own.

Yes you will find out either quickly or down the track when the components start to rust. But your watch and you are aware of the warranty agreement so good luck with that. I personally don't even wear my $500 Seiko in the shower even though fully waterproof. But your choice.
