Installing Airport Extreme 2nd Gen. 802.11n.

Installing Airport Extreme 2nd Gen. 802.11n. Install utility disc and get to "destination select" and tells me "Airport can't be installed on this disc, the version of Mac OS X is not supported. What do I do?

MacBook Pro, OS X Mavericks (10.9.5)

Good luck! The first "test" here will be to see if the PC tries to block the connection attempt from AirPort Utility to the AirPort Extreme.


Go ahead and use the 5.4.2 utility to set up the AirPort Extreme. Update the firmware when the utility asks if you want to do so.


Once that is done, you should be able to use Airport Utility on your Mac to now "see" the AirPort Extreme and change any settings that you might want in the future.
