Glitches, White and Green Lines in 2013 Mac Pro Exports from Premiere CC

Hello,

I have experienced the problem of having white thin lines at the top of my exports and also green dashed lines at the bottom of my Premiere timeline to MP4 and DVDs.

I am on a 6 week old 2013 Mac Pro, 3.5 GHz 6-Core Intel Xeon E5, 16GB Memory, D700 cards, Yosemite and Premiere CC up to date.

I have the D700 GPU's which I've seen elsewhere other users having the same issue! In fact, there is a currently a large forum discussion on Adobe.com here: https://forums.adobe.com/message/7490236?tstart=0#7490236

However we need to let Apple know that this issue exists and is crippling many businesses as they cannot export movies without some type of major screen glitch !

I took these photos from the DVD I recently created.

Which is exactly what I'm doing. That said, the store doesn't keep D700's in stock and so I not only have to drag it in just to get the parts ordered, but bring it back another time for the actual repair.

To be sure - I'm not convinced this will 100% solve the issue but it's the only action left while Apple continues to not address the problem publicly.

Thanks again...

Well to be honest with my Mac Pro basic model quad core with the D300 in playback mode I get this glitchy lower portion of the screen like flickering type when doing just play back on any of software. Only during play back. the problem is that i bought the machine online in the apple online store in Spain and in the retail store they won't exchange the machine for a new one because I have to send it back to the online Apple Store and get a refund and place another order. Being this the same company. Which I will have to let the 14 day period window to past and then take my machine for repair. At the moment it stop doing so when I change the profile of my LG monitor to its default settings. Sometimes I see it happen but could barely see it happen. Apple needs to address this problem either it's a software issue or a hardware issue.

I Am getting some flickering artifacts while doing only playback video on my system. And when I address this to apple they did not replace my machine even when it was in the 14 day window they said if I did not purchase it on the retail store that if it was purchased in the apple online store that I will have to return it to the online store.

There is a lot of very fast VRAM on these graphics cards, and a simple failure analysis suggest that VRAM is a likely point of failure. There may be many cards out there that have VRAM problems, but that does not constitute a systemic problem, and at this writing, there is no recall in place.

If you are having a reproducible problem with your GPUs, you will need to present yourself and your computer at a genius bar appointment at an Apple Store. Or at your Apple-Authorized Service provider.

There is no acknowledged systemic problems with these Machines, and at this writing, any problems you encounter are being treated as a "Sample Defect" -- a problem that occurs in your system , not in every system.

I feel your pain. We are having the same issues with our late 2013 Mac Pro running Yosemite (2.7GHz 12 core, 32GB RAM, 1TB flash, and D700 GPU) and Adobe CC putting green and white lines on our H.264 files exported from Media Encoder and Premiere. We also have artifacts when rendering from Resolve. I feel that the problem is the AMD GPU and not Adobe or Resolve. We use CC on our other older Mac Pro's that have Nivdia GPU's without any problems. My home rig is a late 2013 iMac 27" Mavericks, 3.5GHz i7, 16GB RAM, Nvidia GTX 780 4GB VRAM, and 2TB fusion drive. I have no problems with CC or Resolve in that one either. We have a built PC with XEON CPU and Nvidia Titan GPU and also have no problems with CC or Resolve. With these findings I too feel Apple is the problem. So we're stuck with a $10,000.00 computer with limited functionality...

I just had purchase a quad core basic model. The Mac Pro with D300 cards and I am getting a flickering lower end of the screen when I do play backs on YouTube, FCPX, and quicktime playback. The AMD profire cards from the D300 to the D700 are all glitchy and if you custom built yours and your still in the 14 day window you and you want to have it exchange in an Apple Store retail you will have a long policy hassle to get on if the retail store does not have one online. I purchase a quad core basic model and wanted to exchange it in a retail store in the Apple Store retail and for some reason if you have a discount or student discount they won't exchange it they will return you the money and you will have to re-order it online. So I am waiting for the cash return into my bank account so I could re purchase the Mac Pro but I am losing hopes with apple return policies and with the quality of the parts they are selling us, like graphics card logic boards power supply etc. We are talking about a pro market that is spending a good amount of money to get working high class components, and we are getting garbage in return. This is not the crappy consumer mobility components that the iMac 5k has which on heavy task the components cannot handle because you cannot do the same type of cpu and Gpu kind of work that a Mac Pro could do. the iMac 5k of 2015 that machine runs very hot on heavy transcoding and rendering with fcpx, to the touch it feels very hot and that is not good for the logic board or even more so the gpu and cpu, over the time of its coarse the iMac will end up breaking and by that time those components will not be replace le because apple won't have those parts in stock. I am afraid wha happen to me with my 27 inch iMac late 2009 spec out to the max in the end the graphics card failed on me and apple could not fix it so I went and sped my money on a Mac Pro and suddenly the Mac Pro had a defective graphics card who won't say that this design trash bin Mac Pro in the future we will have a ton of graphics problem and by that time apple won't have this hardware for replacement will we be stuck with a trash bin Mac Pro that there is no parts for it through apple.

I just received my MacPro tower and immediately encountered this problem. After a bit of digging around and talking with Apple support, I installed (and then immediately updated) the CUDA driver to my machine.

I got the driver here:

http://www.nvidia.com/object/mac-driver-archive.html

This seems to have fixed the problem, though time will tell.

Sincerely,

Luke

HI Luke

thanks for the link - what spec of Mac Pro are you running?

I'm on a new Mac Pro that I received on the 14th October 2016 with the D500 graphic card setup. All of the discriptions in this thread ring true for my system too - and not just within adobe. I run Hasselblad Phocus 3.1 and have issues with coloured lines and blue blocks of colour which I can only assume are GPU related issues.

gping to call Apple this evening and see what they same but think I'll try a driver reinstall too.
