facetime will not work since downloading ios8.3

I downloaded IOS 8.3 and since then I cannot log into Facetime, It will not accept my password. Apple support have initially been interested but have now disappeared and will not answer email or the phone. Cannot download any apps again because I cannot get any acceptance of my password.

Is this a know problem`?

'shana, it is now Thursday, and they promised to get back with me on Monday or Tuesday--nothing, not even a courtesy phone call. Honestly, I have never been more disappointed in a company or their service. I feel forgotten, and if I don't have it fixed or at least someone attempting to fix it, I will be returning it. I really don't think that they care, I don't think that they are honest about the problem that so many are having--if it's nothing is wrong with the hardware and nothing is wrong with the software, then what is left? I think public relations is more important to Apple than support. Incredibly disappointed, as I was looking forward to being a part of the Apple experience. Now, not so much...

Dear rockys57

This is the big Apple issue very poor and often no response to any problems. All the big business have the same issue. I won't go into my problems with British Telecom. Lord help us if they are allowed to takeover EE.

The bosses are completely out of touch and the staff have no incentive to bring issues to there attention as they need the job.

The problem we have with FaceTime is being fixed one at a time. Isn't that incredible?

I have the name of John O'Leary at Apple support in Cork who is keeping me up to date with my fix schedule.

Have a try at contacting him on john_oleary@apple.com

Dear shana and Rockys57

Just to let you know and perhaps give some hope to Rockys57 my pad is now fully working.

Apple phoned me on the 12th May with instructions of what to do.

It involved setting a new password and then downloading all the stuff on the pad to my laptop as backup.

It was then necessary to restore the pad to the factory settings as if it were a new pad and then download the backed up stuff from the laptop back to the pad.

Then a tentative attempt to use FaceTime and it all worked fine.

The restore put IOS8.3 back on the pad.

I have no idea what "engineering" they did.

Thanks for all your comments I did not feel quite so alone with my problem.

'shana and Geoff,

After three weeks of waiting and feeling like a red-headed stepchild, Apple finally resolved the problem with my iMessage and Facetime. I did not have to reset anything, or change any ID, or create a fake ID or anything else. Apple engineers simply fixed it on their end. Now both iMessage and Facetime work just fine. I was told by a Senior Tech that they will in fact be coming out with an update that will fix this issue for everyone, both present and future, but I strongly recommend that if you are having this problem, you contact support and get in line for them to resolve this issue. I tried everything on the internet, every fix, every reset, every dummy password, turning things on and off, etc. to no avail. To others having this same problem: You will drive yourself crazy trying to fix this, when you could simply wait for them to get to you.
