Where do I join a discussion community concerning lost music that I received from other sources because it was not available on iTunes and now it is available on iTunes

Recently did a overall of my computer system including complete reinstallation of latest system software. I notice a lot of my music was missing. In particular, a lot of my Afro Cuban cultural stuff that was never available at App store. I received it from other sources. Now I go up on App Store and this music is available for sale there. It seems to me that something serious is going on here but I'm not ready to point any fingers. Has anyone experienced the same problem?

Mac mini (Mid 2010), OS X Yosemite (10.10.2)

I do not understand your concern.

To me having music only available in iTunes after you purchased it from another source is not abnormal at all.

If anyone can suggest other ways of preventing the hacks, it would be greatly appreciated.

If you continue to believe that someone is hacking into your computer (repeatedly, no less!), your external backups and iCloud backups, and not just to copy music, but also to delete it, then I don't think you'll ever get to the bottom of what's going on. There's a multitude of other, more likely, possibilities. Most revolve around the fact that you are probably not backing up and restoring what you think you are. (Just one possible example: your library uses referenced files, possibly even on external drives.)

If you want to resolve your issues, you'll be much better served discarding the idea of being hacked (or a vast Apple conspiracy) and studying your backup and iTunes setups.

Good luck.

As I said before, Apple is the last that I wanted to blame. But with the intrusion of my encrypted file some time ago, it was the obvious choice. Trust me this file was not only encrypted but also invisible. I was relieve when others offered their opinion that Apple would not do that although there is always the possibility that some rouge techician may be playing games. One argument that I did not pursue is that Apple writes the software that allows system to be downloaded and installed thereby having the opportunity to hack if they wanted. i do not believe this which is why I did not pursue the encrypted file violation. Rest assured that I have complete faith in Apple as I think their computer technology is the best out there.
