Why did Apple remove the "All Movie" category from the purchased movies menu?

We have purchased over 200 moivies from itunes, and until the most recent software update we could always view all of our movies together on Apple TV. When you choose purchased movies the "All Movies" category is no longer available, it's been replaced by "Shared Movies" which would include movies purchased by your family members. Now the only way to play your purchased movies is to go to the different genres below, that is a problem because it's not easy to determine what genre the movies you want falls into....for example the Star Wars Movies series is divided in to two different categories, the same goes for all of our kids movies, they are in mutlipule categories which makes it hard to scroll throug multipule categories to find the movies you want. This seems like such a small thing, but really does make Apple TV much more complicated and frustrating to use. Please HELP Apple and bring the All Movies Category back! Thank you.

So what I am understanding is that the apple TV will be useless if you want to stream movies you "BOUGHT" I am going to buy hard copies of movies and import them in to iTunes and VUDU only from now on. Apple had a good thing but I don't think that they can handle the band width for the content any more. Better go and get some Hard Drives and back up your content.

This is weird as in the cloud section of Movies I am still seeing Purchased Films with Recent and All Films listed.

As for cloud playback and redownloading it is indeed possible for the content providers to remove stuff so that you can't stream from the internet or redownload.

As my internet has always been fairly slow I have tended to download and stream from iTunes most of the time and always made copies of iTunes purchases.

I bought Seasons 1-4 of a show a few months ago - have yet to watch it all but did not immediately download all 40 or so episodes which probably weight in at near 2GB each. This 'bundle' is no longer available to buy as Season 5 has aired.....Fortunately I can still download episodes from Purchased in iTunes, but I acn't tell for certain if all bonus features are there as the original 'bundle' listing has gone.

As I move media purchases to yet another external backup drive for posterity, there comes a point when you really have to start questioning the time/economy of purchasing digital media - if it were not for better iTunes quality compared to several cheap streaming services I might just stream, but if I want ultimate quality I still buy BluRay.

I think some time ago I realised that if you go for an iTunes/cloud streaming model the time spent archiving to backup drives and cost thereof may be more than the loss of an occasional movie/show from the cloud that you'd have to buy on DVD/BluRay assuming it was no longer available in iTunes or competing service.

What would really be an isuue would be if the iTunes authorisation servers went down - either if itunes were no more or if the service was taken over at some future stage making it difficult to play purchased media due to the DRM.

TThe best work around I have to offer that I have found is using the remote app on my iPhone or iPad. You can click the "Done" in the upper right hand corner of the main control screen. Then click movies, then all movies, then your entire purchase list is on your mobile screen, with the same icons that are on the Apple TV. Click what you want to play and it plays on the big screen. I like this because you can select the next movie while the one you are watching finishes. I just wish the "up next list" could be movies. A playlist of movies or tv shows on the Apple TV would be amazing. Binge watch all the Star Wars with out having to select each one between would be awesome. Or a few episodes of walking dead, Indian jones series... List goes on.

Tthe ry the app Guys. I was furious when the all movies list vanished one day. But the new app update makes it all ok. I don't even use the little silver remote anymore. Not even sure where it is. My son probably has It in his toy box...
