After recording the message are you tapping the x or the screen ? Both of those actions will cause the recording to disappear. After recording
I Thought about trying to offer help, but I can't send an audio text either. I never tried to send one until I read nan1948's post. When I tap the up arrow, the audio message disappears. It seems like it isn't even recordes at all. I do not see the red square in the white circle that is shown on this support page.
Send audio, photo, and video messages on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with iOS 8 - Apple Support
I must be doing something wrong as well.
EDIT - I figured it out. I had to tap the microphone on the keyboard as well the mic in the messages app in order for it to work. If that's the way it is supposed to work, the support article sure doesn't make that very clear,
I like to hold down the microphone button while I speak, and then just swipe up when I'm finished. (My finger never leaves the screen while recording). Don't swipe up higher than the up arrow, though, or it will not send.
You're solution worked like a charm for me. hopefully it will also help nana and Demo. Thank you.
OK. I did it Andy's way the second time. Man that is not very clear in the support article. Typical CrApple instructions IMO. Nowhere dies it say to not remove your finger from the screen. As long as a I record, the. Swipe up in one motions without taking my finger off the screen, it works. It also works if I tap the keyboard mic, hold the mic in the messages app and them release my finger and tap the up arrow.
Thanks Andy and Bob.
Thank you 🙂
You're welcome 🙂
You're welcome. the way you're describing is how it's suppose to work. I couldn't find out how nana's message was disappearing before having a chance to tap the up arrow.
You're welcome.
Rereading your reply you shouldn't have to hold the keyboard mic. Mine works just using the Message mic.
I Just don't think it is very clear that you cannot lift your finger before you swipe the up arrow. I was lifting my finger and I'm assuming that nana was doing the same thing and that's why the message disappears and does not go,through.
IF it is clear that you should not lift your finger from the screen, then I am denser than I thought I was.
Send an audio message using iMessage
Make sure that you're using iMessage. Touch and hold on the right side of the screen to record an audio message. Swipe up to the arrow or tap it to send the audio message.
I Don't know, maybe I am still missing something. If I removed my finger from the screen and tapped the arrow like it says above, the message would just disappear.

Yes, I know that now. But rather than me re typing everything, read my last post.
I think I learned how to do it properly by watching the TVC. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NNavOxQzfkY

Oh sure, where was that video when I was struggling or when nana1948 needed help. 😁 😁
I hope that nana1948 comes back now. I'm sure that your response will answer her question.
