Audio texting
I Can receive an audio text but can't send one...I shows the message recording but then disappears and won't play back oor send. I have the iPad Air 2. Seems something is blocking..any ideas?

You should be able to record, lift finger without the recording disappearing, then press the up arrow to send. At least I can.
Should be able to maybe, but that does not work for me. Did you watch the video that Andy posted the link to? It looks to me like it is one action without the finger being lifted from the device.
Frankly, I don't care really. If I want someone to hear my voice, I'll call them. Some of this stuff is just stupid and redundant to me, i never felt the need to send a voice text and likely never will, Why it works for you if you lift your finger and not for me, I can't answer.
You should be able to send a message by lifting your finger and tapping the arrow. Something is wrong with nana's and your iPads and what it is is what we're trying to figure out. Like it says in the instructions you posted, swipe up to the arrow or tap it. Emphasis on tap it is mine.
Send an audio message using iMessage
Make sure that you're using iMessage. Touch and hold on the right side of the screen to record an audio message. Swipe up to the arrow or tap it to send the audio message.
Bob, I appreciate the fact that you are trying to help. I have tried lifting my finger and tapping over and over again and it does not work for me. Until yesterday, I never considered sending an audio text. I just don't see any need for it. Like I said, I can just as easily make a phone call and if the person on the other end wants to ignore the call, they can let it go to voice mail just like if they want to ignore the text, they can listen to it later.
However, I have no idea what I could possibly be doing wrong. As long as I don't lift my finger from the screen, it works. I wouldn't know how to fix it and I am not concerned about it enough to care. 😉 I will gladly try whatever you suggest, short of restoring my iPad - which would be absurd to enable a feature, that does work, but maybe not exactly the way that it should - and something that I haven't used since iOS 8 came out. 😁
I Really wish nana would come back and read the responses. Maybe the suggestions will work for her. I feel bad about hijacking her thread. 😟
TThe ticket was not to lift my finger....hold it on the mic and then swipe to,arrow . It worked differently on my son's iPhone 6 so that was why we questioned it. I probably won't use it often....just was curious what I was doing wrong! Thanks so much to you all...you are always there when I need help. ,
I Think that we are all happy that you got it sorted out. 🙂
I'm so glad my tip worked for you!
