Request that Apple Support Communities email notifications include the message content again

For the last couple of days, the emailed notifications about replies to messages I'm following here don't contain the text of the replies. E.g.

[Using Apple Support Communities] - Email notification without content [2vypdi-3pzwx-gtgdz]

deggie has posted in the Using Apple Support Communities community.

I'm led to understand (see Email notification without content) that this is because a recent change to the format of the emails has confused my mail server, which is removing the text. And it's been suggested that I request here that changes be made to let me see the message content again.

iPhone 6, iOS 8.3

Yes...perfect... Communities is no longer useful.

Aloha Skydiver.

Thanks for your quick reply. It's worse then rather useless, it's a massive waste of time. Everybody on a thread receives a notice when someone replys. Now you have to log in, then search for the reply only find out it wasn't for you. Oh well, isn't progress wonderful ? 🙂

At least we know when a watched thread has activity. Better than nothing. But if people don't know what's been said then some aren't going to bother loggin in to find out, which means threads will die out prematurely. Either it needs fixing, or all our mail servers need replacing.

Not necessarily; I had to turn off all email notifications quite some time ago because my (chosen for all things Apple) web based email service has very strict bandwidth limits and I kept going over the limit which resulted in them holding back my emails for 24 hours. So it was a constant battle until I turned off the notifications. I've actually not missed them all that much - I simply sign in, go past the (useless to me) start page and choose either my page (Content/Discussions) and/or one of my bookmarked forums using browser tabs. I can tell which ones have new content and check to see if I need to answer. After I'm caught up, I check particular forums to browse through new questions.

I hope the changes come with instructions. If you're a firstimer or new to the changes you'll get the email notification then go "Great, where ?"

Tthis seems to be fixed. I just got a readable notification.

Thanks, whoever fixed it. Are they back how they were, or is there still some trickery for Apple Watches?

I'm surprized I didn't get an email notification for your reply. From what I've been able to gather the problem was an unexpected consequense to the change in  Watch email notifications. The Watch still gets "you have a reply" message. Everybody else should be back to normal.
