May 16, 2015 11:42 PM in response to sim61by gail from maine,★HelpfulAre you certain the battery is charged. When you did the reset, did you hold both the Home and Power buttons long enough (up to 30 seconds)?
Cheers,

May 17, 2015 9:56 PM in response to gail from maineby sim61,★HelpfulHi Maine,
Yes, when I disconnect from the charger in the morning it was 100% shown on the bar. About an hour later after charged, I notice it was already shut off and I can't turn it on. I tried to plug in the charger, there's no charging sign as well. I hold both the Home and Power buttons for up to 30 seconds, I tried to go into safe mode (hold the power button for 10 seconds and then power and home buttons for 10 seconds) I can't get in too.

....edited to show now FIXED!
after repeated holding power+home button, I finally got phone to start.
May need to hold down both together for 15 seconds.
It took longer than usual but eventually started up......

iCloudWhich is why my post specifically indicates that the buttons may need to be both held down for up to 30 seconds. Glad you are all set now.

Jun 9, 2015 6:45 PM in response to sim61by reptevia,I've had this happen several times with my iphone 6 plus also. One time plugging into charger worked to reboot it, but other times I had to hold home and power buttons down for up to 30 seconds. This is either a firmware/hardware/software issue. WHEN is apple going to address these issues?????

Jun 13, 2015 6:44 AM in response to sim61by Lady_in_red,★HelpfulThis just happened to me this morning with my iPhone 6. It never happened before. There's definitely something buggy with the latest software upgrade. I had to hold the Home and Power buttons down for almost 20 seconds and it revived itself. Originally the phone had a 35% charge and was lieing on my bed. I went back to it 5 minutes later and it had turned itself off and I could not get it to turn back on. When I finally did do a hard reset, the charge went down to 29%. I certainly hope this doesn't happen again and that Apple fixes this problem.

Jun 16, 2015 6:17 AM in response to gail from maineby DavidFerrington,Just happened to me too. Came back at 62%. As Gail says, ensure you hold both buttons for 30 secs. It does not hard reset, just soft reset.
first time it's done that on my iPhone6

Jun 22, 2015 6:09 PM in response to sim61by alyscally,This has now happened to my iPhone 6 for the third time in a month. The first two times it happened, the reset mentioned here did not work for me. Nor did connecting to iTunes. While dead (and plugged it), the phone will ring if someone calls me, but I get the Temperature/overheating message when I try to answer it, even though the phone was not hot (it was actually cool to the touch, being on in an overly air conditioned office). Both times, after sitting overnight (not plugged in or connected to iTunes), when I tried again to charge it in the morning, it mysteriously started to work again. I had to wait until it reached at least 10% charge before I could turn the phone on. Now that this has happened for the third time, I finally made an appointment at the Genius Bar for this weekend.

Jun 26, 2015 6:51 AM in response to sim61by msfragglered,Add me to the list... my iPhone 6 was working fine this morning (using at as my alarm clock), when I got to work the phone was dead. I tried turning it on, but it didn't want to turn on. I thought maybe the battery died even though it was 60% charged this morning. I plugged it on to charge and nothing. Tried a hard reset, that didn't work... at least not at first. After the 3rd hard reset attempts it finally turned on at 56% charge. I'll keep an eye on this...

Jun 28, 2015 5:24 PM in response to sim61by Jonkimjosh,I also had this happen to me today. It was 100% charged. I looked up something. Had breakfast, came back and it was dead. Researched and followed instructions about holding down the 2 buttons for 30 seconds. Then an image popped up telling me to hook it up to itunes When I plugged it into my computer my home screen came back but my phone battery showed 57%, thankfully it charged and is working now.

Jun 28, 2015 11:40 PM in response to sim61by natnem,This happened to me and it never came back! So make sure you back it up to the cloud or iTunes as often as you can to save any new pics. I didn't have my cloud set up correctly and lost 3 mo of my baby's pics and videos. NOT HAPPY. Get it checked out.

Jun 29, 2015 7:34 AM in response to sim61by macbook01,BRAND NEW 6 and I've got the same problem. how many people does this have to happen to before apple will correct? when people rely on their phones, this is unacceptable. really apple? and the phone won't hold our wifi and sometimes doesn't even see it?

Jun 29, 2015 8:43 AM in response to alyscallyby alyscally,★HelpfulUpdate to my prior post (Jun 22, 2015 6:09 PM): I could not reset my phone using techniques posted by others on this string. Could not get the phone to boot past the Apple logo. Phone was examined by Apple technician at the Genius bar with same results. They replaced my phone which was still under warranty
