After the Apple Watch 1.0.1 Update, Heart Rate stopped working...

After I updated my Watch to 1.0.1, the heart rate monitor no longer monitors my heart rate in the background. It only monitors my heart rate when I ask it to take a reading.

This is really, really annoying. Has anyone else experienced this? It was working perfectly before the update.

AAh, , it's a little confusing in the Motion and Fitness screen. The body copy and highlited text text for Privacy settings takes you back to the iPhone settings. I see now you can select Motion and Fitness for a deeper menu.

So, disabled for the time being until there's some definitive answer on this. Also, per suggestions in another thread on battery life, I've gone through my notification settings on my phone and disabled many of the "lock screen" notifications. We'll see if that helps Battery life.

How tight are you guys wearing your watch? With the sport band I like to have it one notch looser than the tightest one. On this notch I am able to slide the watch up and down my arm about the width of the watch band. If I go one notch tighter it doesn't move at all and is slightly uncomfortable. Am I wearing it too loosely that it might negatively affect heart readings? Or does that seem right to you guys?

I have slim wrists and the 42 SS with the leather band will slide some unless I really strap it down. But I just keep it snug, not tight if that makes sense. I'm not having any issues with the heart measure/recording. Your arm/wrist is going to swell/shrink with different humidity and activity levels, I would not strap it down so tight that it never moves.

The issues the others are reporting on are due to software which, fortunately, I'm not having.

Over the day i keep varying the fit of the band, sometimes a little bit loose maybe half an hour later pretty snug, just how it feels right for the moment. I only once or twice saw that the sensor couldn't measure anything... I think it's pretty forgiving and the band doesn't need to be very tight to work.

Aren't there two sensors anyway? Two holes with green LEDs and two holes for sensors, so that at least one can measure something in the event that the other one is somehow not lying flat on your skin.
