I am having problems updating my Apple Watch. Anybody else in the same boat? I am connected to wi-fi, my watch is on the charger and is at 100% battery and it is in range of my Apple Watch.
I keep getting the error message: "Unable to Verify Update - The Watch OS update couldn't be verified because you are not connected to the internet."
Has anybody else had this error and were they able to get around it? Thanks!
I have same problem and nothing help, yesterday buy new apple watch sport, pair and can't update, now I have watch OS 1.0.0, repair, restart, reset, try on iOS 8.4.1 and 9.0, always have same error and can't update (((
The Watch OS 2 update was held in order to fix a bug found at the last minute. Apple said they will release the update the Apple Watch soon but no specific date or time was given.
In iOS 9.1 public beta 1, I was having the same issue. Hard rebooting the phone fixed it.
KYdog, your suggestion seems to be working for me. How long did your update take? My progress bar says more than one hour.

If you are trying to install watchOS 3.1.1, note that the update has been pulled back.
Apple has issued the following statement:
"A very small number of Apple Watch customers experienced an issue while installing watchOS 3.1.1, so as a precaution we've pulled back the software update. Any customers impacted should contact AppleCare, but no action is required if the update installed successfully. We are working on a fix for an upcoming software update."

If the update won't start, open the Apple Watch app on your iPhone, tap General > Usage > Software Update, then delete the update file. After you delete the file, try to download and install watchOS again.
after I deleted it the message stated that the watch os was uptodate!

I have the same problem but shutting everything down and restarting did not fix it.
Thank you it work, but I remember now that I had to do the same for my last update. Maybe Apple should make sure their updates work before sending it out to the world. Anyway thank you, I book mark your answer in case I get another update!
