Call History showing up on another iPhone

Hi,

Hopefully you can help.

I use my phone for business and we have noticed in the last few days that all of the calls I make and receive are appearing in my wife's iPhone recent call history?

I have hunted high and low in settings on both phones but with no joy.

It is only affecting calls i make, not the other way round? so i am not seeing calls my wife makes on her phone in my recent call history?

[Re-Titled by Moderator]

It is also not affecting text messages...

We are both using the same iCloud account but the inconsistencies above suggest its something more involved (or very simple!)

The slightly odd thing is that it only seems to do it when my phone is at home, i went out this afternoon and the calls made/received have not appeared on her history. so maybe its a wifi thing?...but...

I also phoned vodafone when i got home to see if they could help (they couldn't!) and that short dial number is also not appearing on her history?

Yes me is two separate people with different names, numbers and emails. Why would I create a separate accounts when we have had iPhones for 5 years with no problems before? This thread is on page 126 on my phone, that has been mentioned ad nauseum. I want the phones to work like they have the last 5 years.

At the risk of being premature, I think I may have found a possible solution to this problem.

First, as John_Travel rightly pointed out, there are likely millions of users affected by this bug--users who previously, and for good reason, share an Apple ID. It's good to know that there are knowledgable people such as John to shed light on the problem and try to be helpful.

My situation: one family--two adults and two young children--with four iPhones and one iPad among us. We've shared a single Apple ID without issue for many years. Prior to around May 2015, we had no issues. Then, we started having recent calls being unintentionally shared between the two main phones--mine and my wife's. We tried a number of approaches, turning off every setting possible, and nothing worked…until now.

John_Travel's suggestions got me looking again at iCloud settings on the various devices. First, I tried turning off iCloud Drive on each of the two phones. After several attempts at different settings, followed by restarts, etc., the problem did not go away. Then, I finally noticed that one device--the iPad--had all possible numbers and emails selected under Settings, Messages, Send & Receive, including both my wife's _and_ my phone numbers. (I think this association may be key.) Since its primarily my wife's device, I removed all others, leaving her phone number and email. Since performing this change, I'm happy to report that neither of us are getting each other's recent calls anymore. It's only been a few days now but we have made and received several calls from each phone and the recent calls are no longer being shared between the two. I will, of course, update this thread if anything changes in the days ahead. However, for now, it's smooth sailing 🙂

Good luck to anyone else experiencing this issue and seeking to restore normalcy to their setups!

My husband and I have had the same problem (receiving each other's phone calls). We are each using an iPhone 6 with iOS 9.2.1. A few comments/ideas:

1) it is JUST FINE to share iCloud accounts for various purposes. We have shared iCloud accounts for 5 years. This problem just started happening a few months ago.

2) go to SETTINGS→FACETIME and look at what numbers or email addresses are checked "✓". UNCHECK the ones you don't want calls from.

3) go to SETTINGS→PHONE→CALLS ON OTHER DEVICES. Turn OFF "Allow Calls on Other Devices", OR select the devices you are ok to "Allow Calls On".

This seems to have solved our problems.

I just recently started having this same problem with ios update 9. Apple support says that with this new update, every device using the same apple ID will show all the calls made from every device using the same apple ID. I've been doing this for years with my four iPhones because of the find my iPhone app so I can locate my kids. This problem only started with ios 9 update. Apple support told me there is no fix for this problem. Apple tech suggested I complain via their feedback website because they have received so many complaints and calls about this issue. Take the time to send a negative feedback for this issue so they will fix it. http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html

I've posted this solution last year, and it works still for me. Yes, we are Evil iCloud account sharers (mainly to ensure all photos are shared to the same icloud photo library automatically without having to manually post to a shared family account).

If you shut off iCloud drive on one of the phones, the call logs won't share. Tested again on iOS 9.3 today, on 2 iPhone 6s's.

Yes, it ***** that one feature of iCloud isn't available to 1 user, but thankfully my wife doesn't use icloud drive at all.

I may have found the problem. It has to do with caller ID's..... I use AT&T and have two iPhones on my account. One for me and another for my girlfriend. We also use the same apple ID. I have been noticing recent calls listed on my iPhone that were from her iPhone. This never occurred previously, and there seems to be no solution other than getting separate apple ID"s which is not an option for me. So...........I logged into my AT&T account, went to profile/ account users/ then hit the plus sign for my girlfriends cell phone number. My name was incorrectly listed as her caller ID. I changed her ID to Moo Moo (seemed like a good name to me) and I no longer get her calls listed in my recent call list. She still has the wrong ID but at least I get a laugh and don't get Moo Moo's calls listed any more.

I do see that feature, but that feature is turned completely off on all are phones. I think its something with the new iOS 9 release like the apple rep told me. I had the same problem with Verizon iPhones and just recently switchled to T-mobile iPhones and have the same problem with all calls showing up on all devices that are using the same iCloud login. I guess Apple can only fix it, hopefully they screen these posts. Thanks follow the help.

I own two iPhone's and an iPad so initially when I got a call it was like a mad house with all three ringing! i didn't know which to grab first until I found this option and disabled it and that worked for me! sorry if it don't work for you... I tried! Oh and BTW I'm fairly sure it only works if your devices are all on the same WiFi network, just a thought... It might be necessary for you to be on your network with both devices to alter the settings,
