why are my missed calls showing on another iphone

When I receive calls the missed calls show on my wife's iphone. We both use Iphone 5S's and we use the same apple ID for icloud and purchases. But of course the numbers are different. Also the phones are on 2 different phone accounts.

Why are these two phones sharing the call log?

Thanks in advance.

Looks like Apple added a feature called "Handoff" Turning that to off should stop call history from syncing. Settings --> General --> Handoff.

I had to find this on another site.

Was driving me crazy for about a week.

Well, it's also in the manual, but, hey, who reads manuals, anyway. And its also in the Getting Started tutorial on the web site. It's also been mentioned several times in this thread. Handoff has been around for 2 years. It's a great feature; I can take a call on my computer, then switch to my phone. Or vice versa.

Sir,

That may be true, but this feature has only been annoying me and other users since the last update. Perhaps they should auto_off these features and let us choose to turn them on. Rather than enabling them with the update.

I for one would never have turned it on and don't want the phone I bought for my parents showing me their missed calls and vice versa.

_ yet if they did auto off, how would they possibly let us all know about this fantastically annoying feature!! Its pure genius.

No. It has been annoying other users for 2 years who fail to follow Apple's advice to not share iCloud IDs, since iOS 8 implemented iCloud and Continuity support. As you will find out if you read older posts in the forum.

Hey Mr. Condescending,

I have not had this issue for the last two years. I am telling you as a fact, this only started for me after the last update on my phone. By looking at date stamps on other posts while google searching for an answer, I am not the only one that this is a recent issue for.

The only reason I came to the forum was because of this issue. If it had started two years ago I would have visited two years ago. Also, I would like to point out that a fix for the issue was not posted until I put it here.

As for Apples advice_ it needs work. When I bestow them with the privilege of my product purchase, they should go out of their way to not make things annoying for me the user.

I am sure in an idea world apple would love everyone to have their own traceable account. Well, I am not going to force my parents to sign up for a separate apple account then add family sharing._ The simplest fix and the most courteous is for Apple to not auto-on features.

Good day sir.

No instructions were given, no notification of any kind that the features I had off were going to be turned on. It did not ask me to swipe yes or no for any of the features that were going to be enabled.

There is no "lucky" about it... one day the feature was "off.' the next day this obscure feature was reactivated after the apple IOS update.

This is an inconvenience. There is no way to justify it, and your attempt to suggest I am not using my phone properly is absurd and condescending.

When I program an app for the phone, do you think I build in auto features to turn things on forcing an opt in situation.. no... Settings are off, until the user enables them.

I know what they did and I am learning to code apps for this device and other models...You and I may disagree on why they did it, but that does not change anything relevant.

there was an issue, I posted a corrective action. You and the others are simply attempting to berate me and any other users who before this past update, were unaware of this particularly annoying feature.

No one is berating you. They are simply re-iterating that what you want is not possible at this time. No one here can change that. Nor can we change what you want. Submit your feedback to Apple.
