When I receive calls the missed calls show on my wife's iphone. We both use Iphone 5S's and we use the same apple ID for icloud and purchases. But of course the numbers are different. Also the phones are on 2 different phone accounts.
Why are these two phones sharing the call log?

Go into Settings>FaceTime>iPhone Cellular Calls>OFF. You will want to do it on both devices. You can share an Apple ID for purchases, but as KiltedTim points out, t can be difficult sharing the iCloud ID. It takes a lot of maintenance to do that with multiple devices.
So u can have and share the same Apple ID but can u each have your own individual iCloud ??

iCloud accounts are not meant to be shared. If you insist on doing so, you will have to live with the consequences. Complaining about it will not alter reality.

I've been having this issue for nearly two years as well. Did you ever get any resolution in this?
The answer has been posted several times in this thread. Don't share an Apple ID is the best answer. There are other answers that require contortions and jumping through hoops.
It has also been stated numerous times here why family sharing isn't good for many people. You just don't listen.
Those "many people" should buy an Android.
turn off "icloud" in settings for all the other devices (this worked for me because i share with my kids and they dont need icloud "on" in their settings)
iTools was free for life, but only for its life, not yours. I had it too.

There is no such thing in "Settings". Must be somewhere else.
