Apple Desktop Computer

I have a PDF in my email and want to initial, sign and return the document showing I agree.

I do not have a scanner which would be the only way I know how to do this.

Hopeful,

Jayne

I'm fairly sure that residential real estate in Texas and in Florida are similar even though the State and regulatory systems differ. I have been retired for 15 years during which time the digital world was essentially invented. My last residential transaction was about 4 or 5 years ago while markets were still in the dumps. During that time I don't recall the realtors involved used any sort of digital assistance. They did email me things to sign which I did using my electronic system for providing signatures and initials.

Commercial and Residential real estate are regulated differently in every state mainly because parties to a commercial transaction are assumed to be knowledgeable and acting on a level playing field. Not so in residential transactions.

Difference is like night and day!

  • Florida uses forms published by the Florida Association or Realtors(FAR) in cooperation with the Florida Bar for Residential Contract of Sale
  • Texas uses TREC (State Agency) forms as prescribed by legislative statute

Realtors themselves were a BIG obstacle in "getting with the times" 15 years ago. "I am doing great, why change anything?" was the objection. Only answer was "Think about your clients and their convenience and closing costs." To which they replied... I'll let you fill in the blank as I am not as rich as Bill Gates!

Like I said, any agreement to do business in any fashion is OK as long as everything remains 'cool"

The latter is what I was trying to say earlier when talked about "naive" Buyers and Sellers. Texas is BIG on legislating "public safety" as well as morality.

I think the question put to you by another indicates their failure to understand the concept that " if its good enough for Real Estate, it is likely good enough for the OP's needs" - heck, 5 document FREE trial... whaddaya want?

Enterprises have accepted the idea, digital+signature+services = top 2 are DocuSign with BIG deal customers and Adobe EchoSign DC.

I guess we should put the RE deal to bed..... 😉

Actually, you have no idea what I understand and what, if anything, I do not.

I understand - that you like to take stuff out of context a LOT! I said - in total of the context regarding your statement

Well, we really don't even know what type of document the OP needs to sign - it was another poster's idea to assume it has to do with real estate.

To which I said:

I earlier said :

Any lesser agreement will stand up if a RE agreement stands up.

AND

I am assuming this is not a multi-billion dollar merger, of course

MY bailiwick on this one...
