Hi, So I have the Apple Watch Sport and it seems like the Maps app doesn't work. It's only a grid and no map.
I have reboot my phone and watch and that doesn't help. I also unpaired the two and then paired again and it still doesn't work!!
Does anyone have a solution for this??

Yes. But just out of curiosity, how would that help the maps app on the apple watch?
I believe the maps are sent from the iPhone.
OHhh. Ok. I forgot to mention that the maps app works on my phone. But it doesn't work on the watch. I think it is strange since the maps are sent from the phone.
There could be an issue where the iPhone for some reason is unable to mirror the maps to the Watch which is why I suggest restarting the app on the iPhone.

iI'm having the same issue with the maps on my Apple watch. I tried everything from hard reset to unpairing and re-pairing. Nothin worked so I called apple customer support and they said they maps network is malfunctioning and the should have fixed and running in 24 hours. so that would mean by 9 pm on May 23rd.
in the meantime if someone figures out a way to get there map to work, let us know what you did to make it happen. Thanks

Yes, I spoke to there customer support representative. Hopefully they can get this resolved soon.

Just got off the phone with Apple Support and this is an issue which appears to be logged more frequently with time. He suggested that if anyone is having an issue to contact Apple Support; the greater the number of reports, the higher priority for the engineers, and may help them figure out why this is happening to some but not others.
Tried all of the suggestions from other users in the forums (much appreciated!) with re-pairing/re-booting/resetting/etc. and no luck. Using up-to-date software on both my 42mm stainless steel watch and iPhone 6+. The watch software update had no beneficial effect.
Definitely a bug.
This is probably going to be a tough one for them to work with as I have an iPhone 6 Plus and Maps is working on my iPhone. At times it can be a bit slow to display and I see the spinning cog for about 3 seconds but it has displayed a map every time.
just got back from the Genius Bar and about 4 people were trying to help.
Outcome... there were two options. 1 : send the watch for diagnostic and not have my watch for a good 2 or 3 weeks and they probably won't be able to fix it. Or 2: wait for the software patch.We did try everything including trying it with another iphone. Nothing works.
SO, I think the people who who have tried everything, we just need to wait for the software patch.
I just tried Maps and it works fine. Looked for directions to Sam's Club, and it pulled it up and did step by step directions. Must be fixed.

I Just got my watch yesterday and everything works great except maps. Same symptoms, I got grid and only grid. Thanks for the info about the maps network issue. I hope they fix it soon, everything else works perfect! Going to call support right now.
