Go to Contacts. Upper Left hand corner, tap "Groups". You may have more than one account apart from your iCloud account, like Gmail. In this case, it might be that only one account is checked so just check all accounts including your iCloud account & WALA.

It is unlikely that you contribute to the salary of anyone in this thread. This is a user-to-user forum. No one posting here works for Apple. Gail does not. You're being gratuitously rude to someone who volunteers to their time to help people like you. You owe her an apology.

Hi !

I am facing the same issue. When I am searching contact in my contact list then I am getting "No Results" even-though the contact is very much there in my contact list. This is so much irritating. Never faced such silly issue in apple before. The iOS quality is not good anymore. If it's couldn't resolve then I am forced to move on android.

Go ahead and move to android. Since we are fellow users, we have no vested interest in what you decide to do.

If you want to provide specifics as to the issue you are running into, including the iOS you are running, the type of iOS device you are using, and exactly what you are trying to do (what are you typing in when you are doing the search), we may be able to help.

Hi Gail, I have the same problem as the above user. I am using the iPhone 7. All my contacts can be seen when I scroll through the list. But when I key in a particular contact name, it doesn't show up - I just get a "No Results" message. I have done what was suggested earlier - go to Groups and and select "show all contacts". Please help. Thank you!

I have this same problem also. I have been receiving spam calendar invites so I went in and found the e-mail address associated, decided I could create a contact and then block the contact. Well, now I have the contact in never-never land and cannot find it to block it. 😟

Hi Gail, Im having the same issue with quite a few users it seems. I'm using the most current iOS on iPhone 6plus. Contacts can't be found when using the search bar at the top of the contact list. It returns "no results" but it is there when you scroll and look for it. It also appears when someone on the contact list calls or SMS. I have checked all the groups but it is still not working. It really is a pain to not be able to find contacts by typing but have to scroll and look for it one by one.

Again, what happens when you type in a single letter? Do you get a list? What happens if you then add a second letter - does the list become more refined?

Trying to figure out if you are getting any return on a search, or at what point in the search the "refinement" process goes into the zone.

Cheers,

Have you tried restarting your device? If not, then do that first:

Hold down the Home and Power buttons (Power and Volume Down for an iPhone 7) at the same time until the Apple appears (up to 30 seconds). Once the Lock screen displays, try the search again.

If that doesn't work, then try deleting one contact and then adding it back, then try the search again.

Best of luck,

It's very clear that you have no clue what this site is and have not read the Terms of Use. I am a user just like you. I do not work for Apple. They do not pay my salary. This is a user to user technical support forum. As users, we don't care what phone you buy.

And you still didn't indicate if you followed the reset recommendation which just might solve your problem....

I have realized in the last 2 days that the contacts I am having problems with are contacts that I create from the i-message (text) app on my phone. For example, last night we were at a fund raiser and there was the ability to send a text to a phone number and then make your pledge. After I sent the text, I went back in to the message, opened the phone number by holding down my finger on the phone number at which time the window opens to make it available to do the following: Send Message, Share Contact, Create New Contact, Add to Existing Contact. I Created a New Contact and then immediately went back in to see if it was in my Phone Book on my phone or the Contacts on my phone (which I believe are the same thing). It was not there. This gives me a place to start researching why contacts created from the i-message or text message app on the iPhone do not appear in the contacts. I am able to send a new text later by typing in the contact name, I am just not able to pull up the phone number when in the Phone app. Ugh!
