I have saved contacts on my iphone. But it can't be found in my contact list. But when they call i can see their names on my screen. Help!!

Login your icloud in any browser and make sure your contact lists are not deleted.

then connect your mobile with strong internet (3g/4g/wifi ).

in Settings-Accounts , make sure your contact account is logged in and enabled with contact option.

restart your mobile with avtive internet connection.

i did the same for my mobile last time.

If you are syncing your contacts from your Yahoo account, be advised they have been experiencing server problems over the last week, which could be causing your issue. I have same problems but in my case I didn't notice even when they call, names appear. Recently not all but some of the contacts I have saved, when I need to retrieve, couldn't found them.I appreciate any help. Thanks

I have the same thing.

I entered a new contact but can't find it when I use the search. Doesn't matter if I search on first or last name or part of it.

When I open whatsapp (this person has an account) and I search for him, he does show up.

- all groups are checked

- rebooted phone

I did notice, I entered an company for him (he works for our office in LA), and that now also seems to be a group listed in a separate section. If I check that, I see him 2 x with slightly contact information (1 version has less info).

I removed the company in his details but that doesn't make a difference, I still need to check the company group. By checking this group... I also found some non company contacts which I lost....

This is SO weird. It looks like some contacts are associated to my company group n my iphone? If I just check this group 128 contact are displayed.....

I have similar issue. I check only 1 group that is me and I'm trying to save contact. I don't want to use cloud, gmail, etc. I just want to have contact on my iPhone as it was in old time. It shows on call history. Can't save. iPhone 7, all latest OS and updates. Yes, that phone shows multiple time in all groups but I don't want it to be saved in there. I mark only my phone and it doesn't save on my phone.

I have the same issue with my Iphone 5s, suddenly occurred today.

-I have tried switching my phone off and then on again.

-also have tried resetting the phone by pressing the home button and power off button at the same time.

-and selecting all groups from the groups option as well.

Kindly help me with the issue as per your convenience.

I encounter the same issue as depicted in the topic of this post: one of my contact is displayed on incoming call but can't be found in my contact list (contacts stored on the phone or on iCloud)

I have rebooted my iPhone as instructed but the issue remains.

I am using an iPhone 7 with iOS 11.2.1.

Any idea on how to fix this issue ?

RIGHT!!!! I am so tired of trying to figure out “what the crap now” I keep loosing names from my contacts and in my text messages next to the names is the word maybe. Literally my phone was fine with no problems seconds later boom these problems started. And everyday a few more names just disappear from my contacts.

Providing zero information isn't going to help us to help you.

We need the whole story, as well as what type of device you are using, what iOS you are running, and what happened. If you got any error messages or warnings, we need to know about those.

Is it possible that you have more than one group in Contacts? If you open the contacts app, when looking at the list of contacts, have you tried to search for their name, or part of it? Do you see All Contacts listed in the upper left corner of the Contacts App?
