How do I delete "Documents and Data" in podcast on my Iphone 5? I know how to delete individual podcast and podcast episodes, but won't allow me to delete the "Docs and Data". I have limited space on my phone and it's taking up an increasing amount.

Same issue here. Ever since I updated my 5S to iOS 8.3, the Podcasts app's "Documents and Data" have been piling up, despite my having deleted all downloaded podcasts. I have no idea what it's doing but it's up to 4.5 GB now, with no explanation! And of course it's a stock app so deleting it's not possible, and 8.3 disabled third-party file browsing software so I can't go into the guts of the phone to find these inexplicably huge files and kill them manually.

This is draconian. There has got to be a way to do this that doesn't involve spending hours at your computer backing up, wiping, reinstalling, re-syncing all your apps, re-inputting passwords for everything, etc. If this is Apple's "solution" to its own bugs, um, fail.

I have the same problem with my iPhone 4S, iOS 8.3.

It seems like everything I delete simply moves from the list of downloaded podcasts and ends up in "Documents and data", which is impossible to delete . At the moment I have about 70MB downloaded podcasts while " Documents and Data" occupies 2.6 GB.

One used to be able to simply delete the Podcasts app which would also delete it's associated Documents and Data. But Apple has now embedded Podcasts (as well as iBooks and other apps that used to be downloadable) into iOS so this is now impossible. 😐

It looks like the only solution is to just erase your phone and start over at this point, unless iOS 9 somehow fixes this issue. I think someone said they tried to erase and restore their phone but it just put back the same files in the Podcast App, so that would make it pointless.
