This is awful!
I have the same problem (with my mother's iPad). She had an iPad 2 that worked perfectly fine. After a few months she couldn't receive any FaceTime calls or iMessages after the iPad turned 'asleep'. I thought the iPad was broken so we bought, for her birthday, a new iPad Air 2. You can guess it already: we have the same problem! The iPad lies next to her and I'm ringing her with my iPhone and we hear nothing! When she presses the homebutton, it starts ringing (after I'm already ringing her for 2 minutes). Then also she receives her iMessages.
This is a big problem. My mother uses her iPad to ring us or to get ringed or to send us messages, but like this, she's almost never reachable (because she can not hear it ringing).
I searched on the web for several solutions and I found these:
- Go to Settings => General => Use Side Switch to "mute", then toggle the side switch button off/on
OR
- Settings => General Sounds => make sure "Change with Buttons", "Lock Sounds" and "Keyboard Clicks" are all OFF
OR
- Notification FaceTime OFF and after 30 seconds back ON. Ipad off for 30 seconds. Put it on again and it should work.
OR
- Make sure notifications is set to appear
I haven't tried one of these solutions because I don't have my mothers Ipad here with me.
I also think the iPad Air 2 doesn't have an side switch anymore so you won't be able to try the first solution.
I really hope one of these work.
If you have found another solution, please reply.
Thank you very much.
