Cannot Export photo's !

Renaming in Elements doesn't transfer directly to Photos. :-( The new names show up in the "Get Info" box but not as a title under the image. I use a script I found on this site from Old Toad. I think you were in on that conversation as well! Thanks again!

Next time you are trying to export, try to edit one of the photos that cannot be exported.

If you cannot export the photo because the original image file cannot be found,try to find the originals yourself and reconnect them.

If you can edit the photos in questions, check if your external drive might be the problem , Is your external drive formatted MacOS Extended or does it have a windows file system? Then it might help to create a new folder on the drive and to export to a folder and not to the toplevel of the drive.

The export operation failed to create files for the 63 photos listed below.

And what happens when you try to edit one of the photos "listed below"?

Can you edit these photos or not?

And does the drive you are exporting to have a windows file system or is it formatted MacOS Extended (Journaled) as usual for Macs?

are your photos jpegs or RAW files?

Hi Leonie, I just came upon this issue. I get the same error message (1019) when trying to export to my desktop....nor can I edit any of the photos in my library (at least none of the dozen or so that I've tried randomly) I'm running El Capitan. Any advice?

Photos cannot find the original image files or process them. Does the command "File > Show Referenced File in Finder" work, when you select one of the images?

Nope. It's greyed out in the File menu. I tried numerous images from several different years, way back to 2004. They're all like that.

When Apple took away the file name/sequential numbering batch change feature, I started using PhotoShop Elements 13 as an organizational tool, but I've only imported photos from 2015. I didn't experience any major issues until I updated to El Capitan. I am able to export and edit from PSE.

Now that Apple has reinstated the Batch Change and I have a script to add sequential numbering, I'd like to stick with Photos since that's where all of my 1000s of images are stored.

I appreciate any input.

Look inside your Phots Library if the original image files are still there.

Ctrl-click the Photos Library in your Pictures folder and open the folder "masters" inside. If you dive into the nested folders in the Masters folder, can you see the original image files of the photos, that are missing the originals?

Same problem here.

Updated to El Captain this morning and I am no longer able to export photos from Photos app.

It gives me 2 errors (1.016 and 1.014), and says I don't have write access to MAC HD (the HD I replaced my dvd driver with).

I am able to write to this disk with no problems.

The option to "File -> Show referenced file in Finder" is also grayed out for me.

Any ideas?

When you relaced the drive, did you remember to format it MacOS Extended (journaled)? If the drive is still formatetd for windows, you cannot work with a Photos library on that drive.

OK, I just found out that I can only read my external Drive "Fotos". It is in NTFS format, that might be the issue.

Is El Captain having problems with NTFS?

I am not trying to export the whole library.. only the "Latest import". Would NTFS also affect it?

well it looks like several different problems since it is not finding the photos already in the library (only a few).

MAC HD is an INTERNAL drive and is on MAC OS format.

yes, it is an internal drive correctly formatted.

What I am trying to do is export the "Latest imported photos" to an external drive, this one is in NTFS format.

I've been doing it with no problems up to this morning, when I updated to El Captain.
