How do I get my name to show on an email (my own account) instead of the name of the computer's former owner?

When I send an email to someone, the reply often shows the computer's former owner's name instead of mine. I set up my own email account with my own name when I got this computer, but this is still happening. I don't see their name on the account when I open it to edit. How do I make my name show up on the recipient's inbox?

Thank you!

Fortunately, most customers were only concerned with the sound quality they perceived, not the reasons behind it. Not once did I ever have to explain the physics - or other nonsense - involved. Unfortunately, while a cable change on this computer will certainly help, I'm sure there are other bits throughout that could use updating as well. The problem of economy soon becomes apparent, especially on a machine that's rapidly becoming useless online.

I still have my Linn Sondek LP-12. Computers come and go but, as everyone knows, vinyl is forever.

Do you remember the Syrinx PU2 pickup arm that was made for the LP12 (still the best thought out turntable to date) usually paired with the Karma. Not to mention the rather expensive table made for the Linn by A Sound Organization. Ltd.

The Macs longevity is good, that cable is one of few that I would replace on an older machine, so beyond he usual (Ram, drives etc) there should be little to concern you. Although I have quite a few Macs my daily driver is the second oldest one I own, a 2009 13", it lacks nothing I need in the way of performance and I am used to the way it feels 🙂

Well, I'm not averse to maintenance or a few upgrades on this fabulous Mac. But most of what I do with it these days is online. And with all the demands to upgrade my browser or OS (which I don't seem to be able to) or download the latest version of Flash (which also isn't happening), it's becoming apparent that more modern architecture is needed. I'm trying to figure out if I can use a newer iPhone through Apple TV and a dumb monitor to get my online experience. If I'm going to have to replace the brains in this operation every few years, I figure they might as well be cheap brains.

Anyway, I'm not familiar with that pickup arm. There were a lot of products coming out back then and it was a full time job to keep track of what was good at any one moment. Linn turntables were consistently among the best but I must have seen dozens of pickup arms and dozens more cartridges (and some of those were more expensive than the turntable!). Then, there was pairing them all. And, at least as important, setting them up properly, which included using all sorts of odd products, materials and techniques to get the sound just right. I must have prepared hundreds of turntables. I could probably still do it, but remembering all the product names is a lot harder.

How do I get my name to show on an email (my own account) instead of the name of the computer's former owner?
