Hide blue tab in Numbers

Hi

I have this spreadsheet for my girlfriends business. I have it automatically creating an invoice number if there is text in the cell beforehand. I have this formula "IF(C3>0,D2+1,"")" which supplies a number. There is a blue tab in the top left hand of the cell saying, "the formula compares a string to a number". Does anyone know how to get rid of this? Or can give me a more suitable formula? I have tried substituting the ">0" to " >"" " and other variations but am struggling to get anything to work. It's not a big deal but I like everything nice and tidy!!

Hi Beaker,

It looks like you want to increment 'Job No' (column D) by 1 if there is an entry in 'Type' (column C), Else insert "" (NULL, Blank).

The LEN (length) function is your friend.

Type 1 (or whatever starting value) into D2.

Formula in D3 (and Fill Down)

=IF(LEN(C3)>0,D2+1,"")

Your Screen shot was difficult to read. Instead of capturing the whole screen (command shift 3) you can drag over the relevant part after command shift 4.

Yeah that's done the trick.

Thanks a lot for your help, and noted re the screenshot.. I will in the future, I seem to be posting constantly at the moment so will make it easier in future.
