It is conceivable (but not likely) that you COULD have ONE riser card that is malfunctioning. Over a large sample, a DIMM is thousands of times more likely to be failing than ONE Riser-card.

The probability that you have had TWO Riser cards fail is vanishingly small.

The Mac Pro is very very fussy about having the exact right kind of memory installed, and the heatsinks are very important to its functioning properly.

If it chimes and starts up, and runs for a minute, your Mac is essentially working. The chime is generated in software after the power-on self test passes. In my opinion, if you fix the DIMM problem, you will have fixed everything that would keep your Mac from operating well enough to call it "working" and proceed to sell it.

I changed the riser and the RAM (Apple RAM with heatsinks) and still have the same issue. Boots for a like 30 secs and then goes blank. The system tries to restart (i hear the chime), but gets not further than doing that several times.

I took out the 4 drives and only used the SSD that has the OS and apps. I had previously taken out the SSD and used a portable station to take out data from it and it worked fine.

Any other suggestions as to what could be the issue?

I've contacted several so called Mac repair shops in Miami and they all suck.. They say it's not worth it to repair. I'm the one who should decide if it's worth it or not; and to me the data inside the 4 drives is. I just feel they have no clue and wish to limit their work to broken screens.

Any help is GREATLY appreciated!!!
