Has iTunes match gone haywire?

My music artists are all over the place, I noticed it this morning. Just out of blue on all my iOS devices. It makes no difference if the metadata matches for artist, album artist, sort by artist, sort by album artist, ensure compilation is unticked. Many songs are coming up in strange places on the artists view in the iOs devices. Lots of entries under various artists popping up. I have a list of cliff Richard four times under artist as an example - its just crazy. Happened out of nowhere. I only really noticed earlier as back to work started listening to my songs but ic ould of been at the weekend it went all wrong. My iTunes library is perfectly sorted. anyone else seeing strange entries crop up amid their artist list. Could the impending Apple Music be wreaking havoc with match?

SSorry one last question - is there still option to toggle off downloads under cellular service? To restrict excessive data use out and about I did this when leaving library on shuffle. The songs not held locally on the device would always be greyed out under this method which worked well. Does that still happen? I wish the train would hurry up, it's baking hot here in London and an desperate to get back and install !

Looks like it. Under Settings/ITunes & App Store/Use Cellular Data.

Says "Use cellular network for automatic downloads, iTunes Match, and Apple Music.

You can toggle it off.

Hope it still works the same way as I do the same, don't want to use cellular data for music not on the device locally when driving around etc.

Another good thing, looks like you can delete local music by artist again. Pretty sure that option was not available in the 8.3 version like it was in the older iOS versions prior to iOS 7.

tap on artists in the music app and then toggle the show music option...it'll show all music you have stored in the cloud

I never turned it off. But everything appears fine in iTunes on rMBP.

However, not sure if the 10.4 OS X update affects anything. I'm not able to get it as the app store seems to be down for me.

The only thing for me though is the rMBP is not my main iTunes library. I pretty much just play match songs on it. And it appears fine but I don't have the OS X 10.4 update either.

My physical library is on an old windows XP machine which I have not turned on in quite a while.

Try signing out from your account in the Music app; quit (and reboot); then sign back in in the Music app. That worked for me.

anyone else's playlists not syncing across their devices? Music is all back to normal but playlists aren't syncing....

Thanks. This seems to be working for me on my iPad. I haven't taken the risk on my iPhone yet. I'll leave that for a few hours. iTunes Match seems to be unavailable on my MacBook at the minute.

Also, I'm getting the same error message others have reported when enabling 'iCloud Music Library'. Is this the new name for iTunes Match? I can't see any reference to 'iTunes Match' in 8.4.

Its all good now. Actually I think it's better. The show all music on off switch is now in the app and not the settings now called listen offline. All in It must have been a necesarry mess up for the new app to work on 8.4. So yet another few frustrating days. I can't actually figure out how to rate tracks? Although my playlists are all there. Also is Apple TV OK now with the music library?
