some emails don't go into sent folder

I am running the latest version of Yosemite on a MacBook Pro Retina 15" and just recently when I email this one person and include an attachment of a PDF, that email does not go into my sent folder after it is sent. I know that it does get sent because that person will reply to the email but it is no where in my sent folder which is not good if I need to access that attachment on my iPhone or iPad.

Why is this happening? Is there a new but within Mail? Because I also have a new problem that used to happen with a previous version of the OS where once I attach that file, I can then no longer save over that file or delete it and empty the trash as long as Mail is open. I get the message that it is in use and I have to quit Mail to do anything with it.

MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X Yosemite (10.10.2), 15", 2.6GHz, 16GB RAM, 1TB Hard Dri

I tried what you said above and here are the lines that were in Console after clearing it and then sending a PDF via email that did not go into my sent. There isn't too much here so this is most of it. I deleted some lines that had to do with Dropbox but a lot of this I don't know if it pertains or not. Is it a permissions thing? looks like a lot of the messages are "you don't have permission..."

Back up all data before proceeding.

Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:

~/Library/Caches/CloudKit

Right-click or control-click the highlighted line and select

Services Reveal in Finder (or just Reveal)

from the contextual menu.* A folder should open with an item selected. Move the selected item to the Trash. Log out or restart the computer and empty the Trash.

*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. In the Finder, select

Go Go to Folder...

from the menu bar and paste into the box that opens by pressing command-V. You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.

Thanks, I'll try to call. I never have that much time to devote to calling them though which is why almost a year has gone by and I haven't called them back about the safari history not syncing.

This morning I am noticing that after I send a PDF and look in my sent folder I see the email and then it immediately disappears and eventually it will go into the folder: Recovered Messages (iCloud) On My Mac.

Strange. I also updated last week to the newest creative cloud. Not sure when it started happening with me. I am also a graphic designer. I started noticing it on the 23rd when I created this post. For me it only happens with PDF file. Yet one I sent yesterday did go into my sent folder. I've tested with that same PDF and it doesn't go into the sent folder so there seems to be no rhyme or reason to it.
