iOS 8.4 GPS Issue

I updated to iOS 8.4 and now my GPS isn't getting data quickly, when using Maps or Waze for directions it take so long to figure out where it's at it's pretty much useless. Anyone else having this issue?

Just throwing my two cents in that I updated to iOS 9.1 beta test and it did not solve the issues on any of my mapping apps (Waze, Apple Maps, Google Maps). I previously tried all things suggested in all these threads before me (toggling, hard resets, turning off and powering down, etc). Nothing worked. Even went on Apple Support chat, tried all their methods (the same ones pretty much) and restore as new iPhone, didn't help.

ITS A HARDWARE PROBLEM!!! I HAVE SOLVED IT!!! LONG POST BUT WORTH THE READ. !!

Hey guys. Little update That might help some of you.

So I also posted about this problem earlier in the chat. No navigation app was working and my wifi wasn't working great and my LTE was barely working... But it was mainly my GPS not working and Wifi that I was most concerned about. I'm very techie so I did all the troubleshooting steps before going to Apple Support Chat and told them not to waste their breath because I tried this this this this and this and that and they were like Oh.. Ok.. So.. Try resetting through iTunes. Not the phone. Tried that and still nothing. So then they were like ok. One last thing. Try turning the phone off, taking the Sim out, waiting 30 seconds, putting it back in and restarting the phone. Did that. Still nothing. So the apple chat said it's probably hardware. Go to your service provider. So went to service provider (AT&T) they looked it over did a few things and also said it was hardware and to take it to Apple. So the have to drive an hour to the Apple Store.. Ugh.. Anyway, went to Apple Store and the guy pulled up his wifi connections.. He had like 12 and I had 2. And when pulling up GPS in Waze and Apple maps and such, it just was either "No GPS location" or forever searching for my location. So the guy was like Yeah, that's definitely hardware. So here's a new phone. Got the new phone and put my old back up on it (the back up from the old phone that was having all the issues) and everything's still fine. So it wasn't the OS or anything, it was the phone. Never got what the ACTUAL problem was but I imagine it had something to do with the wireless antenna and GPS chip or whatever.

Here's everything I did to try and make it work (and failed) so you don't waste your time trying it!

--Location Services off and on

--Wifi off and on

--Turning data off and on

--Phone off and on

--Resetting Network Settings

--Turning airplane mode on and off (read online that did help someone)

--Soft reset (home button and power button)

--Wiping the phone through the settings (Settings>Reset)

--Wiping the phone through iTunes (that IS different than resetting through your settings)

--Turning phone off, taking out SIM, waiting 30 seconds, replacing SIM and turning back on

--Setting up phone and new iPhone

(Pretty sure there were a few other things I tried but that was mainly it.)

AGAIN, THE ABOVE STEPS **DID NOT** WORK.

GO TO AN APPLE STORE!!! More than likely, your attempts to fix it are futile, sadly. But go to Apple, show them your issue and stuff and get a replacement. If you're still under warranty they replace the phone no questions asked. If you aren't, they offer you a new phone at a very discounted price, but it still costs you.. Which is ridiculous but.. It's Apple, right? Hope this helps you guys finally solve this annoying problem!

100% agree. Update on my situation. I bit the bullet and made a reservation at Apple - I just barely got this phone 4 days ago, there was no reason why it should be doing this.

The very friendly Genius helped me out and it sounded like she'd heard the story 1000 times before (which by the looks of this thread is probably true). Once she heard I'd tried all the methods above, she didn't do much else and just said "Sounds like we just need to get you a new device." And that was that.

New phone also improved cell service as well, which makes sense now that GPS is actually working. It's running SO much faster, it doesn't even compare. And this is still on 8.4. I think I'll hold off on iOS 9 for the moment, haha.

Luckily some of you folks are having luck with the hard resets or the toggling, but it sounds like there is a good amount of people for which none of that works, including me. If you can, just go to Apple and have them deal with it.

Just finished a very frustrating chat on this. She actually thinks it might be the GPS constellation. I have a Genius Bar apt for Monday. My GPS location is virtually unusable for at least two of my family phones. It has been that way for awhile, but can't pin it to 8.4 update. What frustrates me is finding that support person who will admit to hearing the story a 1,000 times.
