ios 8.4 music missing

After updating my iPad to iOS 8.4 I can not locate most of my music and my music videos. The only music and music videos I can find are those purchased through iTunes. Any ideas where my music is and how to access it? Thanks

Similar issue. My iphone does not play any tunes without Wi-Fi connected so I have 30Gb of dead space which I can't use the music is not recognised under storage as 30Gb is not accounted for/listed since the remainder adds up to 25Gb. 'Connect to Wi-Fi to play' every time - useless if trying to play songs downloaded on to phone. Selecting my music, artist and then 'make music available offline' button on just displayed no music.

Come on Apple this is TERRIBLE!

I updated my iTunes to version 12.2. I then synced my iPad with iTunes on my PC and the music is back.

However, before syncing iTunes was warning that I was 8GB over capacity showing that I had 22 GB in other.

Nevertheless, the sync completed. Now my iPad shows 2.2 GB in other and 10 GB free.

I thought I was in for a long sync/download but all I had do on my iPhone 5s was open the Music app when the phone was connected to WiFi; decline the unwanted solicitation to join some Apple club (twice); tap on 'My Music'.

Hey Apple, this was particularly annoying when I arrived at my bus stop Thursday morning, took out my ear buds, took out my phone an found that I didn't have any music in my collection. This is a bad customer experience.

This helped me. I only have an 8 gb iPhone 5, so I manually add music to my iPhone and only keep about fifty songs on there. After the update, the only songs that appeared were two I downloaded from iTunes (the rest were from cd's or from Amazon). I had disabled Apple Music and Connect but couldn't get the rest of my songs to show, even though they showed up when I plugged my phone into my PC and opened iTunes. I pressed "artists", a menu appeared, I pressed "songs", and voila, there's my music. thank you! I do not understand why Apple makes things like this so freaking hard.

If you create a playlist, the shuffle button appears at the top of the song list. I used the old music player in the most basic form -- no playlists, just whatever songs were on my iPod. I discovered I can't really do that now. So I created a playlist and added all my songs. It's easier to use now, with the shuffle button readily accessible.

I'm with you, there was no warning that this was going to happen with the update. Frustrated that I can't get my songs originally uploaded from CD, only content downloaded directly from Apple... Further, not all of the songs I've downloaded are even there. Content must still be there based on available space; Apple care not providing any assistance or suggestions either and I didn't sync with computer prior to update. If I sync now, will it all come back and how much of my non-cloud content will be lost in the process???

As a share holder and typical lover of all things Apple, I have to say, sorely disappointed in this product, process and customer service. (Rather Microsoft-y of them... Hope this is not a snapshot of the future.)

Just figured out the problem after being on the phone with a nice apple person who didnt know either but between the two we figured it out. down at the bottom go to Playlists. on drop arrow beside all playlist, tap. Make sure that show music available offline is turned OFF. My music magically appeared after that. also i found that to shuffle etc. tap on a song then swipe up. the cross arrows are there that will let you set to shuffle all songs. was hard to figure out but it now is working correctly,
