iPad Air 2, 64 GB. After updating to iOS 8.4 screen rotation NOT consistently working. I have verified the screen lock setting in the control panel Is NOT set and I have done several hard resets (hold power button and home together). rotation works for awhile then stops working, another hard reset fixes it. This did NOT happen with iOS 8.3. Anyone else seeing the problem?

Thank you for the post. I performed the exact same process which you've suggested, and everything seems to work just fine now. In time past, I would only "reset all settings", but this orientation issue would crop up again. Hopefully the full restore of my iPad Air 2 running iOS 9.0.2 continues to work properly.

A "full reset" was not required in my case. As soon as I installed the iOS 9 update, the issue was corrected.
I'm glad it worked! Both methods suggested (a, Full reset from iTunes or b. Reset all on the iPad) seem to work for most. I haven't had any other malfunctions so far. Let's hope it stays the same. :)
I Have the same problem since update to iOS 10
Brand new iPad Air 2 32GB iOS 10.1.1 and experiencing the same rotation problem described by others. Turned Reduce Motion off and bam - the problem is solved. Hard to believe this issue is still unresolved in iOS 10. Thanks for the tip. I'm a little frustrated with Apple nonetheless. 😠How can the problem still be unresolved since iOS 8.4?
Regarding my last post - I spoke to Apple Support about the rotation issue and iPad Air 2 returning with iOS 10.1.1. They were very helpful and submitted a report. Hopefully the glitch will be resolved on the next iOS update.

What's odd. For my iPad the problem was resolved several versions ago. It's come back with the 10.1.1 version (along with strange bluetooth behavior on my iPhone 6S)
Hi. Have you tried turning off Reduce Motion in the Accessibility settings? Also, you should report these problems here https://www.apple.com/feedback/ipad.html. Be sure to identify your device version, since the rotation issue seems to be device-specific.
Yes - Turning off Reduce Motion is the solution for now. I prefer the Parallax feature "off" however! Nonetheless, I can be patient if the fix is in an upcoming update.
