iOS 8.4 screen rotation not working

Just reboot the ipad. I just powered down and back on, and now I am back in business.

Unfortunately, no it hasn't. This never manifested for me in 8.4 and is now plaguing my iPad Air 2 under 9.0.

I've just noticed this thread whilst searching for the screen orientation problem, as I'm on iOS 9 and it's still happening on my iPad Air2.

On IOS 9.0.1 ipad air 2 it is still happening...

Yes, I've just updated to iOS 9.0.1 as well, and the problem's still there.....

I had the same issue using iPad Air 2 64Gb wifi; I solved I it :

Settings-->General-->Reset-->Reset All Settings;

You wan't need to install again all apps.

I had thought of doing a 'reset all', but was a bit cautious. I'd already tried a standard 'reset' but that didn't work. However I took your advise, and everything is back to normal.

I've updated to iOS 9.0.1 on my Air 2, and the home screen orientation issue persists. It will not rotate to landscape mode, yet all other apps will. Setting resets, hard reboots, powering off and on have all been done, and still no permanent fix. Apple need to address this issue.

Yes, this works!I backed up, reseted (first turned off Find my iPad on iCloud), started as new device, updated to 9.0.2 from iTunes and restored eveything. It's working. No rotation issues whatsoever.

I had done a soft reset and it didn't work. So I contacted Apple Support and they suggested the previously explained method which I followed succesfuly.

They said this issue was addressed in 9.0.2 update. Though you still need to do a full reset, yes, it was resolved for iPad Air 2 WiFi 128 GB. Hope it helps!

I had the rotation problem right after updating to iOS9.0.2 on my iPad Air 2, WiFi, 64GB.

(No rotation problems with iOS 8.4.1, 9.0, 9.0.1)

The following solved it: Settings => General => Reset => Reset All Settings

(When restoring a previous backup with iTunes after the reset, the rotation bug came back)
