Icloud music library not activating

When I try to switch on Icloud Music Library it switches back off within a few seconds automatically.

I've tried all the methods so far: airplane mode, remove/add my account, reboot, closing Music app, disabling Wifi.

Country Romania.

I even contacted Apple Support, they had no idea about this..strange.

I see no error message, just the switch going back off by itself in a matter of seconds.

I've read the entire thread, and I would like to add some comments of dissapointment to how this topic is treated (not by Apple, but by us, the Romanians)

On-topic:

- production bugs happen, even for huge companies like Apple. 10 days ago this service did not exist, and now it exist in more than 100 countries, I'm pretty sure this is considered a minor glitch in the service, as it should be!

- this is not fake marketing, nobody is trying to steal from us (we should do that also for a change)

Off-topic:

- I've seen comments saying that discussions with Apple representatives on this topic were the worst customer experience; how can we say that, there's very few Romanian companies that actually answer their phones when you call support, let alone try to fix issues

- I've seen comments of people who are frustrated that a-currently-free service does not work as expected and we should pursue compensation. Seriously??? I mean seriously? What damage has this not-fully-working service done so far so that we have the audacity to request compensation? Even more, what other payed alternative do you have (I would exclude Deezer or Zonga as real alternatives); I guess Spotify is the only real contender, and that's not even available for us officialy

- I've seen comments saying that nobody cares about this because we're Romanians; I would encourage all of us to stop playing victims and complaining (nobody is discriminating us), and actually do something useful. The world is big and beautiful - explore it. Nobody's trying to fake-market a service nor we are being treated differently for being Romanians.

While bugs do happen this doesn't seem like a bug at all, launching in over 100 countries with no issue in one day then one week later Romania still doesn't have a fully working service and what you consider being a minor glitch I think it should be treated like a pretty major one since at this moment Apple Music in Romania is nothing more than what Youtube is.It's not fake marketing , at least not until we get an official response from Apple but we are discussing this because an Apple Support Representative considered the iCloud Music Service blocked intentionally in Romania.

Having a phone support doesn't make Apple great.I contacted them via ticket and even after writing a detailed mail about the issue I received two standard replies with no valuable information, basically telling me what Apple Music is then how to enable iCloud Music Library then being transferred to a Senior Representative to discuss the issue, after 3 days.I can't name this quality service, sorry.

It doesn't matter if its a free service for 3 months ( for some users isn't ) or not.Compensation should totally be taken seriously since the service advertised wasn't delivered as promised, free subscription days should be offered for the downtime and for those that paid for the service probably a refund.

I agree here, it might be a bug or not, nationality doesn't really matter in business. All that stops Apple enabling iTunes Match for example is Romanian Legislation.

Nobody's trying to fake-market a service nor we are being treated differently for being Romanians.

Not yet, lets hope for now its just a bug..if they lied about the service ( which is totally illegal ) things might get more complicated.

Globocs,

There are many typologies of Romanians, as I am certain many other countries have themselves as well; but there some distinct ones within our species; they come by so many names: 'I know it all', 'wisest of them all', 'gica contra' etc.. To be honest, you may have a point somewhere around your very peculiar description of ourselves, but my dear fellow citizen, you chose the worst possible moment and place for doing that.

To keep it simple, people - who, by the way, may very well be expats who decided to explore the word (most likely at the warm advice of their compatriots) and decided to settle down in Romania - are frustrated because they have received a crippled service and I believe this is the most proper place to speak out this sort of discontent; for any other personal opinions you may have there are way too many forums out there; I encourage you to look them up.

I think Emisay1 already went through every point of your comment, I really appreciate his patience and I hope you found his answer useful.

In contrast with Emisary1 typology, from this message you can very well depict another Romanian typology, called 'foolish pride'; well, my friend, that is me and thus I come to you with this completely useless reply.

Best regards,

One of the victims

Oh, really? We pay more for Apple products than other countries and we also get worse customer service and somehow we're still the ones to blame. Great logic, mate!

Well, it's been ten days, and this no "minor glitch" as you call it, the ability to add songs to your music library and listen to them while offline is a strong selling point for Apple Music. If this "minor glitch" as you call it had affected customers in the US, I'm pretty sure Tim Cook would be writing apology letters by now. There are more features that work in other countries and don't work here, yet we don't get any discounts on Apple products for not having the same level of service, if this is not a rip-off, I don't know what is. It also is fake marketing, because this is a feature that is supposed to work and it doesn't, it's not like some obscure feature nobody would use.

I'm not calling Apple Support because I want to have a chat with someone, I'm calling them to resolve an issue. If my issue is resolved, that's good customer support, if it's not, or they make vague promises of fixing the issue sometime in the future, that's not good customer support. If they can't solve it right away, I at the very least expect them to give me assurance and a timeframe for when the issue will be solved.

Hey guys,

Short update: the senior adviser who is handling my case called me last night and told me she received an answer from their technicians who are still researching the issue. She also said that the research and files I provided really helped them to have a better understanding of the situation. She will call me as soon as she has more information.

On the other hand: is it just me or did "add to my music" and "listen offline" buttons disappear for everybody? In exchange, I have "add to playlist" option for any song on Apple Music (songs not saved offline). I was using the "workaround" up until now, but I have no more buttons to push in order to save songs for offline play...hmm...this could go two ways...

Late edit: quick restart and everything's back to normal.
