Did Apple take out the ability to shuffle songs within a genre? Can't find it now and Google is not bringing up any solutions yet...

It seems like in iOS 8.4, there is no longer a Shuffle option within Genres. I really hope that Apple will add it back in a future version of iOS! You can always give Apple your feedback at https://www.apple.com/feedback/.
In the meantime, and even though this may be time-consuming and cumbersome, you can always add the songs in a genre to a playlist and then shuffle the playlist! 🙂
IT doesn't shuffle even though the shuffle icon is lit. i just updated 8.4.1 and I thought the shuff icon would return. Why change something that was fine?
This problem has been here before and is always a pain. My cheat, or go around is to use Siri. I just ask her to shuffle a genre. Although I can't get it to work to shuffle Hip Hop it seems to work fine with other genres of music.
CARLOS, THANK YOU!!! I have been smashing my head against the wall since I upgraded. The new iTunes(or iOS8..++) should come with instructions, it is not intuitive in any stretch of the imagination like Apple used to pride themselves on!! Reading the comments online, I believe I am not alone! PUBLISH this on Google and anywhere else you can. Maybe Apple can start doing ads that teach people what used to be intuitive!

Thank you so much for posting the answer! I have no idea why Apple makes is so hard to do this. It only makes sense to me to shuffle through random songs in a genre.
@tbmillner Thanks. I forgot Siri could do that. Makes it a lot easier than messing around with the rubbish Apple Music app...

Carlos. I read your workaround in several places online and keep trying it. It works some times, but other times it won't. When I press on the genre icon nothing happens. It is more than frustrating. This was the first time that I saw the comment about asking Siri to play the genre. Works for now. I don't use Siri much as I don't know it's full functionality, but this one will help. Also, Siri messes up almost everything I as him to write in texts and email.
Thanks so much, Carlos! I am really getting annoyed with how much less user-friendly iTunes has become. First, Apple makes iPods obsolete, then they make it so difficult to manage music on the iPhone. They are ******* off a very loyal fan here!
Anone know how to do this in the android version of Apple Music ??? as described above worked great on IOS but does nothing in the android app???
