itunes 12.2 will not connect to update server

I am getting this error message if I check for an update manually. I've repaired the install and restarted the computer. I even downloaded 12.2 from the Apple site and ran the install again - it only allows repair or uninstall. There is no reinstall option. I'm running Windows 7 64bit OS.

Then I tried to run the diagnostics and selected only the Network test and it crashes iTunes each and every time. Not sure what's up with all this. Is it a problem on Apple's end or my end. iTunes worked fine on 12.1. Using check for updates is how I got to 12.2 in the first place. But now nothing.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

12.2 is broken in more ways than not being able to contact the update server. It is constantly re-syncing music when I connect the phone and it will not show any apps! anyone else notice this?

This has been fixed.

Amid the 12.2.1 update released today, I checked for updates on iTunes 12.2. And lo and behold, instead of the error about the upgrade server, a message was shown saying that iTunes 12.2.1 was available.

After installing 12.2.1, I manually checked updates, and now the correct message is shown:

I still have the same issue with Apple Update Server. Can't update to 12.2.2, which is a shame because previous version is full of bugs (seriously guys how hard is it to properly sort artists in alphabetical order???). I have Windows 10 (and I'm not happy about it either!!)

Didn't have any issues to update to 12.2 and 12.2.1 but now I have this issue with 12.2.2 so it's not fixed.

You can download the installer from here, or use the appropriate direct link as follows:

iTunes 12.2.2.25 (Windows 7 or later, 32-bit): iTunesSetup.exe
iTunes 12.2.2.25 (Windows 7 or later, 64-bit): iTunes6464Setup.exe
iTunes 12.2.2.25 (Windows 7 or later, 64-bit - for older video cards): itunes64setup.exe

The third of these - which is actually the 32-bit application with a 64-bit installer - should be used if you get a warning about video card incompatibility when you install the standard 64-bit version, but also may resolve issues with playback, QuickTime compatibility, and problems with some third-party applications (including Outlook).

Help > Check for Updates is working fine for me (running 12.2.2 - reports that this is the latest version).

Thanks. I had already downloaded the last version directly from apple website and was able to update. Does not fix the Apple Update Server issue though. It still cant connect.
