After downloading iOS 8.4 my apps won't update anymore. (iPhone 5)

I tried restarting my phone, logging out of apple ID and logging back in, closing the app. Nothing will work.

I've got the same problem, (and issues with battery drain, email and other stuff) since updating to 8.4

I've tried everything you have, and you're right, nothing fixes it.

Did you subscribe to 'Music'? I didn't, and I'm wondering if it's caused some sort of hang?

This is what worked for my iPhone 5. After a few hard resets and WiFi on/offs with no help i did one last hard reset (home/sleep buttons) but this time I held the buttons down for 3 on/off resets without it doing a full restart ( just held the buttons down for about 1-2 minutes). Hope it works for you.

My daughter's iPhone 5 could not open or update YouTube (only.) Naturally, that's the app she wants to use the most.

After trying ALL of these solutions over and over again, and having deleted the (invisible) app from Settings/Usage, I still only saw the cloud icon in the App Store but could not select it. Of course I stabbed at the cloud icon over and over.

As I looked at the YouTube icon I noticed the tiny "17+" designation for the app. I wonder if that is new. I went to Settings/General/Restrictions. I had disabled restrictions on her phone awhile back, but today I re-enabled them, then went down to the App setting and moved the setting to 17+. THEN I could select the cloud icon and the app downloaded and opened without a problem.

Just wanted to throw out one more possibility for folks to try, and I thank all of you who posted your solutions!

iphone 5S 64GB - IOS 8.4

I've found that I CAN update all my Apps but cannot see anything on any other tab - Featured, Top Charts, Explore or Search are all blank. The Updates tab still shows my Apps and I can update them just fine. Also, whenever I see a link to an APP I don't already have I'll click on it and see the APP store open up but the screen is just blank.

Problem was noticed about 10 days after installing IOS 8.4 - could have been there since installing but I never tried installing any new Apps untill then.

- Checked all pertinent App Store settings including Credit Card info, Appple ID, etc.

- Logged out and back into App Store and iCloud multiple times.

- Restarted and completed Hard Reset multiple times.

- Reset all factory settings twice.

Will do a complete wipe and factory reset once my backup is complete.

Ugh.......

This is my first post as to date I have been very happy and have experienced no serious problems.

I have an iPhone 6+ with ios8.4 and I am having the same problems updating apps. In particular Google Maps and Youtube. I have tried every suggestion short of a factory reset / wipe / whatever you want to call it and I really do not want to do that.

AND, why the he^^ should I have to. I have the latest phone with the latest IOS and it does not work correctly.

Apple need to get this issue resolved quickly and release a new update that fixes it.

Hi All! I have the same problem and I've tried almost everything except for phone Reset. But here's a more effective trick without having to wipe out your phone's memory. What I've noticed before is when you update apps the first time in a day, usually it would require you to reenter your Apple ID and password on a pop-up. So what I did to was to first download a specific app from App store that requires log in. While I am downloading the app, I tried updating all my apps and voila! The apps have been updated. Try this out guys and let me know if it's working.

Hello. There is an easy fix for this problem

Basically apple won't let you use another country's appstore to update/install apps anymore.

Solution 1: You have to disable "Location Services" on your iDevice...

a) Go to Settings

b) Tap Privacy > Location Services.

c) Disable "Location Services"

d) You are good to go!

Solution 2: If you want to use another country's appstore to update/install your apps and keep "Location Services" enabled, then you will have to use a VPN on your device (e.g. Hotspot Shield)

Keep in mind that most vpn services are not free!

Okay so as of today (28 August 2015, Friday), I'm currently on 8.4.1. WHICH IS DEPRESSING, I'm not sure what happened honestly. Ever since I sent my phone for check up at the Apple Service center, weird things have been happening, or it could also be from when I clicked that Nate Ruess video from Apple Music's Twitter.

But okay back to the point. So basically some apps WON'T LOAD at all and will just freeze. Safari would go, but it wouldn't load some of the websites, ESPECIALLY YouTube. Twitter would freeze occasionally, I couldn't go in Settings. WHEN I LAUNCH SIRI IT FREEZES and I have to like sort of spam using the AccessiveTouch thingy until it jams the whole systems and restarts itself. When I go in Settings some of the things don't work, I tried adding a finger print reading for my iPhone 6, and IT FROZE COMPLETELY AGAIN.

I have tried restoring from a backup and getting it from there but it doesn't seem like it's working. I really do not want to lose the texts and photos in my phone because they mean a lot to me. So restoring to a clean slate isn't really an option for me, it's more of a last resort.

I read somewhere off Google that I can restart my phone by resetting that network configuration thing, because the side button of my iPhone 6 is broken and it's stucked inside. The Apple center says it's not covered by warranty and they can't do anything about it so I'm here stuck. I'd rather just get a new phone but this has never happened to me before with all my past iPhones so seeing the new iPhone I just bought 8 months ago be like this is VERY VERY sad and disappointing for me.

CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME? DOES ANYONE HAVE THIS PROBLEM?

ALSO:

APP STORE: I have to mention that I CANNOT DOWNLOAD ANY APPS FROM THE APP STORE AT ALL. IT DOES NOT ALLOW ME TO. In the updates section THERE'S NO BUTTON TO PRESS UPDATE. Occasionally though there will be this button that says "Download" but it does nothing. "Download" in the "Updates" section?

APPLE MUSIC: DOES NOT DOWNLOAD ANY MUSIC FOR OFF LINE STREAM AT ALL. IT VERY RARELY plays music when it's not downloaded offline too. I don't think it's my internet connection.

Define: When I highlight a word and press define, the whole thing CRASHES.

To anyone having this problem and you still have no solution after trying everything in this thread:

Go into App Store -> Sign out by going to the 'featured' tab.

Go into Settings -> iTunes & App Store -> Password Settings -> Select 'Always Require' and slide the 'Require Password' for Free Downloads on

Go into Settings -> iCloud and click your account name, then change your password.

Upon changing your password, Sign in to your iCloud account ONLY

Go back into App Store - ⚠ Do NOT sign in if prompted to (both iTunes and App Store prompts)

Make sure your ID is not shown at the bottom of the featured panel, if so sign out.

Go into your updates or the to app that wouldn't download before, Click on 'Update all' or 'Get' the app.

You will now be prompted for your password, enter it both times (for App Store and iTunes store) and the apps should start updating or start downloading (in the case of a new app) ✅

Don't ask me how this works, I have no idea. This was my problem for a week. I tried everything in this thread first to no avail, then this worked.

I'm on 8.4.1 iPhone 5

Let me know if this works for you 🙂

After downloading iOS 8.4 my apps won't update anymore. (iPhone 5)
