After downloading iOS 8.4 my apps won't update anymore. (iPhone 5)

I tried restarting my phone, logging out of apple ID and logging back in, closing the app. Nothing will work.

I've got the same problem, (and issues with battery drain, email and other stuff) since updating to 8.4

I've tried everything you have, and you're right, nothing fixes it.

Did you subscribe to 'Music'? I didn't, and I'm wondering if it's caused some sort of hang?

HI,

I followed your steps and went into iTunes & App Store and logged into my account from my iPhone 6. I noticed both the country and payment info were blank so I went to country and confirmed that I may have to change my paymeant method if I changed my country and found that my country was set right so I canceled out of that and got a message saying your apps will download now or something. My paymnet method was also correct.

Thanks for the suggestion to check iTunes & App Store account settings. I never had to do this before when I updated from a previous iOS version.

Hmmm, maybe with the addition of Apple Music you have to verify your info, not sure.

Go to Settings > iTunes & App Store and tap your Apple ID and login if needed. Check your payment information by tapping Payment Information. You may have to verify your credit card info or if you use PayPal as I do, tap Done and you should be good to go.

You may want to reboot your phone afterwards but the apps and App updates started downloading after I did the above.

Hope this helps.

so today I updated my iPhone5s to iOS 8.4 and I'm having the same problems. No matter what I do I try to update my apps and nothing happens. I click update then the update turns to the spinning circle like its about to update but then the word update appears again!! I've tried everything in this post from re entering payment details, switching off bluetooth, restarting, hard restating all several times but still nothing.. if anyone's got any other ideas id be very grateful cheers marc

So I've had a similar problem and tried everything. Basically I recently (July 8) got a new iPhone 5 64gb from Apple to replace my old one and also decided to get Apple Music Match. A few days after uploading my old phone's setting onto the new phone from iCloud, I began to notice that the battery life wasn't much better than my old phone, and I've always had bluetooth and LTE turned off and mostly stay on wifi. I thought maybe it just had to settle and charge a few times before it would hold its optimum charge. Next, I noticed that a few apps often crashed when opened, often giving just a blank loading screen, and never opening. These were mostly non-apple apps like whatsapp and myfitnesspal, and the problem seemed to be temporarily fixed with a hard reset (hold power+home).

Then I noticed all the other problems, super warm phone even when idle, and wifi and 3g connection issues - like webpages not loading in safari, apps would not update or download. I tried a hard reset several times, as well as resetting all network settings a few times, and finally even resetting all settings like many of the forums told me to try. That was two days ago. No dice. Then yesterday, my phone was still overheating, emails would not send out or even be marked as read (both on 3g or wifi), and the battery was dying incredibly fast, even after turning wifi, 3g and cellular data off mode (20% in less than 1 hour :/). The final straw was when I received a notification from my carrier stating that I've used 90% (5.5GB) of my data...This really perplexed me as I've never used over 3GB of my total 6GB in a month...and it had only been half a month!

Finally, I decided what the heck, I'm going to do a full reset and just start on a fresh install. I really didn't want to Immediately after it was done I noticed that the heat problem was gone, and apps were updating and downloading. And this morning, I've had the phone on standby for 3 hours and about 1 hour of usage and I'm still at 92%! Before the full reset, I would have probably been at 50-60%, so I'll call this a success! It was kinda annoying because I had so many apps and media, but now I have all that free space and no clutter!

TL;DR - I had all the problems most people reported with iOS 8.4 on a new iPhone 5 64GB, tried network settings reset, all settings reset, and nothing worked until I just reset my phone fully to factory default. Semi-victory, but clean slate is nice.

After downloading iOS 8.4 my apps won't update anymore. (iPhone 5)
