Issue getting Windows 8.1 on MBP Mid 2010

Hi,

This question is aimed at you Loner T.

I followed the instruction in one of your previous post to manually partition and instal Windows 8.1 on my Mid 2010 MBP.

I have downloaded GDisk and attempted to create hybrid MBR in line with your previous set of instruction however my MBR has less partitions then in the previous post and I am concerned that may be affecting the behaviour.

I'm hopeful this terminal output will be a good starting point.

You should be able to start a new Windows installation. There is no Windows installed yet based on the header you posted.

No, I haven't gotten to the stage of installing Windows yet. I had only created the partition before running into all these other problems.

I have just power cycled and restarted holding alt to access the Windows partition for installation but I am only given the option of my Mac SSD, or the recovery drive 'Recovery-10.10.4' to boot. The 'Windows' partition I have created seems to be non-bootable. Indeed when I check the info for it in disk utility it says 'not bootable'.

The Windows partition on your internal drive is the Windows destination. You need the Windows installation media on a DVD, insert it into the Optical drive and then boot from the installer DVD and choose the last partition we have in the MBR.

Power cycle and hold the Alt/Option key. Do you see the DVD as bootable device?

It does not look like your DVD was burnt correctly. Can you look at Disk Utility (Yosemite): Burn a disk image to a CD or DVD and try to burn it again and test?

The image was burnt on a windows machine so I'm thinking that might have something to do with it.

I am burning using the mac at the moment. Once it is complete I will test and update you.

Was is it on a ReWritable media? Please ensure that the write speed does not exceed the maximum speed supported by DVD media.

Ok, so by holding 'c' on startup I got the windows disk to boot. However it jumped straight to the screen below and has gone no further.

I have no peripherals plugged in. Thoughts?

I waited it out but it runs into another error.

"windows install error code 0xc00000e9" - It also reference external devices however I have nothing connected.

So, Got past that error.

I've gone home and left the machine for the night. It starting installing and then gave me this error - http://wind8apps.com/fix-whea_uncorrectable_error-windows-8-1/

It sat on that screen for nearly an hour so I just left it. Hopefully when I come back in the morning something will have happened but if not any input would be appreciated.

So there has been nothing happen on the machine over night. In fact the screen it is frozen on says it will restart automatically when a ticker gets to 100% but it hasn't moved from zero.

I'm not sure what to do from here.
