10.10.x Bluetooth Mouse Stutter / Lag / Jittering

I recently bought a Mircosoft bluetooth 4.0 designer mouse to pair with my MBP 2015 13inch.

The mbp paired well with the bluetooth mouse and even named it correctly.

OSX version: 10.10.4 Yosemite

However, there was a noticeable lag and stuttering in the mouse movements.

I setup an online chat with Apple support and they told me it might be a microsoft mouse/driver problem? (what?)

I am convinced this issue is a Yosemite or Macbook problem.

Here's the reason why:

  1. No mouse lag issue when wifi is turned off (serious deal-breaker)
  2. No mouse lag issue when wifi is connected to 5ghz wireless network. (perhaps wifi 2.4ghz interfere with bluetooth? what?!)
  3. No mouse lag issue when using a usb mouse with wifi turned on
  4. Bluetooth mouse works properly with other devices (windows laptop)

I don't understand why this isn't an apple issue.

Anyone has any fixes or ideas ?

Hello,

Unfortunatly I have the same problem with logitech mx anywhere 2 and MBP2015 😟 mouse lagging when mouse is connected over bluetooth and wifi 2.4ghz is enable... I can confirm problem exist only on MPB2015 I checked on XPS 2015 (Win 10), Asus 2012 (Win 10) and no problems mouse working fine!

I also noticed when i plug unifying stick to usb port and close lidl, os x wont sleep...

For me, a PRAM reset seemed to have solved the issue (MBP 15" Retina 2015, max config, with Logitech MX 2). The issue appeared after several months of problem free use and disappeared – as many describe – when the WLAN was switched off. PRAM-Rest (Alt+Option+P+R at bootup) made it dissappear (for now).

A few days later: Nope, didn't help at the end. Fortunately, Logitech offers these Unify USB adaptors which work with some other frequencies. Searched for the tinytiny adaptor, plugged it in, removed the mouse from bluetooth and – pointer does as it should! So there is defenitely something crappy with bluetooth while WLAN 2,4 GHz is operating.

Do we have any workarounds for this? I have 2 bluetooth mice with exactly the same problem. Logitech MXMaster and Razer Orochi. Both work perfectly fine with wifi off, but with wifi on, its downright unusable. I'm using a rMBP 15 mid2015 model. Thankfully the MXMaster has a USB dongle which works perfectly while the Orochi can be used in wired mode. I can't use the 5Ghz wifi signal because our office wifi does not support it. The problem is quite frustrating and renders bluetooth devices practically useless. Any of the latest updates to El Capitan yielded no satisfactory results.

Same problem here.

2015 13" MPB Retina + 2,4 GHz wifi network + MX Anywhere 2 with Bluetooth connection.

Wifi off -> Problem solved

Wifi 5 GHz -> Problem solved

Logitech Unifying Connector --> Problem solved (and actually more responsive than Bluetooth and Wifi 5 GHz)

Wifi 2,4 Ghz -> Stuttering, lag and jittering.

I'm currently using Sierra 10.12. It's been like this since I've bought the mouse and used El Capitan (10.11.2 or 3, I don't remember).

I believe it's really some hardware design problem. The problem doesn't happen if I use this mouse with my sister 2015 MBA connected to a 2,4 GHz wifi network.
